    Dan Skelton quote…

“The horse is all right, Harry’s all right. Good jumpers, when they have a fall, they have a bad fall. It wasn’t very nice but he’s OK, he’d have hacked up.”

“The fence is in the wrong spot, what can you do? It’s happened to Ruby Walsh. These things happen. I was delighted with him, we know he’s a very, very good horse. He’s in the Hennessy and he’ll have an entry in the King George. We’ve just got to see, but it was terribly frustrating.”

Mike007, “The fence is in the wrong spot, what does he mean and where should it be?
Jockey should of kept hold of him, reminded me of Jamie Moore on Goshen.
The winner and placed horses be interesting to see new BHA marks.

I don’t know Troy. Maybe someone who’s seen and knows the racecourse can shed some light.

Speaking on Luck On Sunday this morning, Dan Skelton sounded very tempted by the Ladbrokes Trophy, reasoning that Shan Blue would appear to be chucked in off 148. He doesn’t harbour any stamina doubts.

Galvin paid a compliment to Annamix yesterday. I wonder what the British handicapper will do with the Ricci horses. Going to back Fiddlerontheroof before his run today, I think he could have a good season.

Troy I think I know what he meant by wrong place now having watched him on the Nick Luck show. He felt that if the fence was in a different place e.g. 2 foot before or 2 foot after he may have gotten away with it, it was just one of them things.

Added Fiddlerontheroof 12-1 ew as a backup selection to Shan Blue. Should come on a fair bit for today. They will be my 2 all being well.

Newbury and Wetherby are similar courses but the Ladbroke / Hennessy is a stiffer test than the Charlie Hall due to the size, quality and diversity of the field

Harry isn’t Barry, Ruby, AP or Davy yet and, I think, they’d won bigger races by now.

As for the fence being in the wrong place….

I’m not worried about the fences at Newbury for Shan Blue as long as he don’t remember the fall. The jockey can keep hold of him and deliver later, he shouldn’t need to kick on 4 or 5 out and let the horse get lonely as he will likely get a lead for longer because, as you say, it is a better race on paper.

It’s a miracle Shan Blue wasn’t hurt yesterday. I can’t back him after that. I’m not convinced he’s a strong stayer at the trip if the ground gets testing either.

There’s something i don’t like about Fiddlerontheroof too, though it was impressive enough from him today. Silver Hallmark caught the eye in behind and will get a big swing in the weights with Fiddler if they both line up here.

I haven’t backed him yet but every time i look at the race i come back to Demachine. Lightly raced and likely to improve this year being only a 7 year old. The other i like is Canelo. Alan King has started the season well and this horse was a good second in a handicap on the Ladbroke/Hennessy card last year off a big weight. I’ll only play him if Demachine is scratched as there are plenty of obvious dangers at the top of the market.

Tyt I reckon fiddler is a seriously underated horse , his form is rock solid and I can see him running a big race , I’ll keep saying like the ntd yard the tizzards had a season last year , they,ve plenty well handicapped horses and there going along nicely at the moment

Grass, good luck with Fiddlerontheroof, good call.

As for Annamix, I do think he’s got a big one in him, but I’m hoping it’s The Thyestes. If he does run here, I’d struggle to leave him completely.

Shan Blue misses the race due to injury, despite Skelton saying on air he was alright.

    My ew 2 now….

    Fiddlerontheroof 12-1
    Eklat De Rire 11-1

Whether they will turn up for sure I dunno, but feeling optimistic that off their marks they can get involved at the finish if they do.
