Is it just me, or does this sound like hell on earth?

“As we inch closer towards Spring, The Bet MGM Kingwell Hurdle Day should be in every Jump racing fan’s diary. One of Wincanton’s biggest fixtures of the year, it is headlined by the Grade Two Kingwell Hurdle, a race which often proves an important trial for the following month’s Unibet Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Now featuring a dog-friendly day, bring your furry friends along for an exciting day of dog shows with 6 fun classes, thrilling dog races, and the chance to explore pet shops and exhibitions. Get your friends and family together for the perfect Saturday day out, there’s something for everyone.”

I think I’ll opt for Ascot instead.

Interesting way of “attracting a new audience” especially as it was a student day last year,I’m guessing they had loads of complaints last year.
bad news is that it’s also a student day at Ascot although the course is big enough to keep them at arms length

Dogs and racehorses…what could possibly go wrong? Reminds me of a pony event I was at, heard the commentator announce over the tannoy “Can the owner of the dog that’s loose on the XC course near fence 10 please catch it” …minutes later “Can somebody please catch that dog near fence 10″…minutes later “Can somebody please shoot that dog?”
Dogs getting loose at pony events and running around practically under the feet of a pony approcching a XC obstacle, or in the middle of a showjumping round or dressage test, was an occasional hazard and bad enough, but if some mutt with no recall got loose in the middle of a novice chase…

Was the bright spark who decided to have a funfair beside the stables at Windsor, or fireworks before the Derby, responsible for the decision? Anyway , if a dog gets loose, whatever numpty who thought this was a good idea can share “FENTON!!!!” duties with the mutt’s owner.

I am even more of a dog person than horses, but I agree Green’ – daft idea.
