Moved to, wait for it… 15th January!!!
Crazy decision. How does anyone know what the weather will be like come the middle of January? It could be worse than it is now for all we know.
Surely they should have tried to put it on sometime later in the week even if it meant moving it to Newbury, Sandown or even Cheltenham on New Years Day.
By. moving to a different course it would make a different race. For example in Desert Orchid era what would have happened if they moved it to Newbury, a horse who only won going right handed (apart from 2 substandard left handed races )
Surely they should return people’s stakes? I can’t see the rationale behind keeping our money when none of the horses race, as a result of force majeure.

I’m happy for Billy Hills to keep my stakes for 3 more weeks, as Kauto won’t be 9/4 on the 15th

Strange situation really, as I placed 2 bets on the race yesterday – one has retained my stake, yet the other has returned it?
December 27, 2010 at 15:17 #333966Oh, I misunderstood. I thought they were treating our bets as losers. I’d prefer they hang on to them.
December 27, 2010 at 17:10 #333981The situation with ante post bet, at least with Paddy, is unless its ran over a new distance or different course or re-opened or void for this season then all bets stand as you put them on. I think most bookies are the same on this.

If you have ambitions to end up in a homeless unit, backing Cooldine would be a good starting place.

TAPK has high hopes for
Cooldine
this year,my idea of a plan was to run him in the Durkan, win that, just like connections did with Florida Pearl then straight to Kempton! One problem, the idea was to run in the Durkan 10 days ago,not 10 days before the bloody King George! If he misses the King George after winning tomorrow!
I will nail him in the Lexus, only problem there is the beast called Joncol!
Hope you never had the Crown Jewels on
December 28, 2010 at 20:05 #334093I know it’s probably only a sprain, but I wonder if McCoy has fallen foul of the poisoned chalice that is the ride on Kauto Star in the King George? Perhaps my dream of Graham Lee being offered the ride will come true?
December 29, 2010 at 01:17 #334104,unfortunately time catches up with all of us and i can see him being retired after it,Win or lose!Kauto defineately wont be going to Cheltenham afterwards as it will be one test too many,i hope connections allow him a worthy retirement.
Utter Baloney… The horse Is the same age as Denman who I witnessed In the Hennessy Gold Cup under 11/12 losing no points In coming third under that weight handicap.
Kauto will win… now Imperial Commander Is out due to a leg Infection, It will be all the easier. When Kauto wins we will see him In the Cheltenham Gold cup. Only then will there be any talk of retiring him so he goes out on a high.
In actual fact, Kauto has only fallen 4 times In his racing career, one of which Ruby re-mounted and came second. His blunders are not as the racing media like to Imply.January 2, 2011 at 21:17 #334621I am a bit puzzled by the Sizing Europe situation. I know the trainer had a disappointing experience carting him over for a race that didn’t happen and said he wasn’t a definite runner but, having missed the Lexus, he might as well have another go.
January 5, 2011 at 15:13 #334839I am beginning to think this ante post malarkey is too difficult,
Kasparov, seeing how its Christmas and the season of good will i shall give you a little advice on the Art of Ante-Post betting!
1,You have to have an eye for a horse,i am convinced 90% of all top class horses look the part!
2,Only follow quality horses in quality races! i like to think every horse is trying at the Cheltenham festival!
3,Study form and watch races, paper form is not a patch on seeing things happening with your own eyes! Make Notes!
4, Learn the Pattern, that means you need to remember when and where every significant race that holds an Ante-Post betting opportunity is being run.
5,Understand Trainers mindset, they are creatures of habit, history shows you that in previous years form books.
6,Serious wagers have to be level staked,i try to bet to £100 e/w on my number 1 selections,i still have plenty interest £10 and £20 wagers though at silly prices on the machine.
7,Remember priority number 1 is not to lose,so if you are still going to make a profit on the race there are times to lay some of it off or even back 3 or 4 horses to place!
8,The key to successful Ante-Post betting is to get the biggest price available,i have had 66/1 winners who have won at 16"s on the day,so at level stakesYou can afford to lose
occassionally and you will if your horse doesn"t turn up
Cooldine
here for one!
9,Discipline is absolutely crucial,my posts show clearly i can sit and wait like an Eagle owl for a mouse (Fist)!
10,Confidence is King! Celebrate every successful winner and some of mine are legendary, some on here, butDancing Brave
and
Miesque
both at 16/1,both returned 2/1 still make me proud!
Always remeber 3 Ante-Post winners a year at double figure prices say 10/1,16/1 and 20/1 means you could lose 36 times and still have 10 times more money than you started with! Not that i do lose mind!
January 5, 2011 at 18:11 #334847can someone tell me what the latest situation is with sizing europe is he running or not??

Apparantly he’s not running which is quite surprising
January 6, 2011 at 20:23 #334909How come siezing europe is still in the betting if he is not due to run thats a bit naughty by the bookies
January 6, 2011 at 22:07 #334916Connections of
Sizing Europe
have made no decision on his participation yet, they are discussing his options.25"s on the machine would cause concern for his supporters though! I hope he runs!

Yeah I see Henry de Bromhead is looking at all his options. Someone should tell him he has 2, come or don’t come.
I got the distinct feeling he took the cream puff because they put the race off for 3 weeks and who can blame him.
I see the Uk is getting more snow, so there’s no guarantee Kempton will even be on next week.
If it were to be lost anyone know what the plan would then be?

.I think we should be ok. The snow due now has turned to rain & the 7 day forc does not get lower than 5 degrees
January 7, 2011 at 15:21 #334971With heavy rain forecast for Monday I reckon Kempton will be soft or good/soft by Jan 15. This should favour Long Run and the Nightingale. However, I haven’t noticed the weather affecting the prices much.
