Long term my fancy for this was Ballyburn, but I’m not convinced that he’ll go back there anytime soon.

The Jukebox Man surely comes into contention after his run at Christmas, and I like the 20’s, however just as appealing to me is Ile Atlantique same price. He’d be my second choice.

However, in a race where I always try to have a long ranger, I’ll go with Jango Baie at 40’s.

Nice run last time at Cheltenham, beating a horse I like a lot, and think his future belongs over further. Obviously needs a lot to go right between now and then, but he’s my early bet at 40’s

    Cashed Out
    Ballyburn
    Champ Kiely

    Jango Baie 40’s

    Edit 23rd November
Jango Baie stakes laid @ 5’s for free race, covering my Caldwell Potter bet, which was smaller. Jango is a big bet, and I’ll use that to lay a wee bit again to cover any backups I no doubt have

After yesterday’ performance I think Pic d’Orhy could have a chance here. Obviously great at Ascot, but his Kempton record is great too. Won the Pendil, won the Silviano Conti Chase and was a 1 length second to Banbridge last year. He gave weight to Banbridge in that race. 3 miles shouldn’t be an issue at his age and Paul Nicholls always does well in the King George.

    Pic d’Orhy 33/1

Surely he’d be to old for KG now , I imagine he’ll be primed for a 3 timer , understand the Ballyburn angle but if he’s the next Mullins GC horse then he won’t be running here , will Mullins run anything , I’d be tempted by Il etat Temps at the prices if so

Evening all, posting for the first time, I like Banbridge again this year for this race and I’ve backed him at 16/1 with Hills (price is still available).

I fancied Grey Dawning at 25’s for this last year.

Hopefully he can get his season going when it’s planned this year rather than the changing of plans that took place last year when he never got his ground and effectively ended his season at Haydock.

    25’s again for me now.

I see Il est Francais is now being trained at Tom George’s yard , I imagine this will be the goal , frustrating having a ante post here as you can’t trust Mullins to actually run anything …

    Yes my bad old water.

Mullins has confirmed Gaelic Warrior and Fact to file will be aimed here!

Part of a wider plan to target more British races early in the season apparently. Probably have the championship sewn up by the time the king George rolls round

    Garlic Bread at 4-1.

Three miles around a right-handed course should be ideal, and the opposition looks mediocre, at best. I’d expect him to be much shorter on the day.

Shorter , prob with Warrior is you can’t trust him to turn up , can be win … Yes …will be win ….hmmm I’d want a price , it’s tailor made for Fact to File , prep , KG then Ryanair , writes itself

This race looks absolutely perfect for Fact To File, and Gaelic Warrior, and I just can’t split the pair of them.

The one horse who I would love to see in this is Il Etait Temps, but his exploits at the end of last season will probably be enough to keep him at the minimum distance

The other horse that I was interested in was Heart Wood. He looks more likely to try the Savills Chase again this season, and I wasn’t really blown away by him today, but I’ve taken 66-1 ew anyway

Ditto Eezer however I want him to stay at 2 so we can have the best Champion chase we,ve seen in nearly 20 years …
