“Allaho is the one with more of a question now”

Allaho ran well emptied at the end Ryanair isnt that far and he’ll run more from the front in that i expect.

It was a pretty uninspiring race with things changing very quickly from three out.

Shishkin is in bad need of some confidence boosting performance, but he was reluctant to start and that reminded me a bit of that CC from two years ago when he virtually pulled himself up after jumping a couple of fences.

Can’t have any confidence in him.

I backed Shishkin. Well peed off I am. I’m sure he still had enough left in the tank to hold on.

    Nico nearly had a nasty face-full hoof😨

Allaho not the same horse after his injury break; clear from an early stage that he doesn’t have the pace to lead anymore. Feel Shishkin might have held on, both 2nd and 3rd were impeded, which may it easier for Hewick to burn them off from the last.
Great to see a £800 horse winning such a big race

Mike are you saying Mullins used the KG as a prep for the Ryanair ? , sorry no , he jumped fine , travelled well , found very little , look what happened to BMG and he still finished in front of him , there is a question now

Shiskin isn’t finished yet , there’s 12s for the GC , I think that’s a fair price , he,s a freak … an unlucky one , Jesus h he won a Arkle and yet now he look like he def needs 3m plus

Bobby, just forgot to thank you for putting up Hewick first. Well done, mate.

“Mike are you saying Mullins used the KG as a prep for the Ryanair ?”

Not sure what you mean. They came over as they thought they could win an open looking King George. They didn’t.That doesn’t mean he can be totally written off in the Ryanair. Horses have lost the King George and then won a Ryanair. Not saying he deffo will as he’s probably not the same horse as he was. But I still think he can run well in it if they run as he won’t be meeting this lot in that race.

“Clear from an early stage that he doesn’t have the pace to lead anymore.”

Townend may have purposely held him back from making it. Could he have made it if he wanted to? Was Frodon going that fast at the beginning?

Thanks Ruby, seems a long time ago I bet him, and delighted with the 33’s. That made up for somehow managing to miss him him at Galway and Sandown. Knew the ground would be a big factor

Does anyone think that IL Est Francais would have easily been involved in the finish? I do, his time was about 4.5 seconds faster than the KG.

I love Shishkin and he deserves his place in the Gold Cup.. you just can’t trust him if he’s on one he’ll make life hard for Nico.

Well done all those on the winner, some very shrewd judges on here, not that we didn’t know that already

Bad race that I thought. Horses in front looked like they all stopped, Hewick was out with the washing for most of it, should never have been able to win from where he was. Bravemansgame looks broken in a finish, he had every chance to win that and barely mustered something to pass Allaho who crawled over the last. If the times are true I think the 2nd and 3rd in the Kauto Star would have won the King George too.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up getting his wind done again, hes travelling and jumping round fine but when it comes to the business end he looks a bit soft currently.
