Hear hear Ian. I probably look forward to the King George more than any other race throughout the season. It certainly wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
December 12, 2022 at 16:31 #1626679Only two weeks to go now!
I’ve long since thought that this would be the perfect race for Royale Pagaille if it was on genuine soft ground and seeing as he holds an entry and there seems to be a fair bit of rain around the Sunbury area in the week leading up to the race, the 40/1 with Skybet was just too big not to have a nibble at.
He holds an entry in the Welsh National as well but surely that is too big an ask for him off a mark of 163.
I have been following Hitman for a while but 7/2 is just absurd.
December 12, 2022 at 18:00 #1626688MC, I read today that the Rowland Meyrick is also under consideration for Royale Pagaille.
December 12, 2022 at 18:28 #1626691Thanks Steeplechasing, I hadn’t heard that.
Interesting option for him, I guess they will just go wherever the ground is softer on the day.
December 14, 2022 at 18:06 #1626843Skelton saying he,s not coming here , unlikely Noble will , I’ve played Eldorado Allen e.w a few times
but I’ll need to go again , he,s huge at 20s considering you know he,’ll be thereDecember 14, 2022 at 18:07 #1626844I’ve gone e.w double at 50s for the GC to
December 17, 2022 at 11:40 #1627137According to the Racing Post, L’Homme Pressé runs here. I’d make him favourite.
December 17, 2022 at 11:49 #1627138The forecast is probable rain every day at Kempton until Boxing Day, yet apparently Protektorat, who would be conceding weight to all of them in a Handicap, doesn’t run.
I hope the Cheltenham Gold Cup is abandoned in 2023 and Dan Skelton is banned from every pie shop in the land.
Chezza’s off to the nearest town centre to give Santa a good kicking.
L’Homme Presse wins it now.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 17, 2022 at 12:31 #1627143L’Homme Pressé would prefer a stiffer track I think. Connections only coming here due to a lack of other options. He could run 2nd here and it would still be perfectly respectable as a Gold Cup trial run. I still favour Bravemansgame at a sharp track like Kempton. And I don’t see a ‘rain every day’ forecast for next week on the weather website I am looking at.
December 17, 2022 at 12:34 #1627144“Gold Cup trial run”
Anyone who refers to the King George as a “Gold Cup trial” should be sent to prison.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 17, 2022 at 13:43 #1627152Depends on the horse and his timetable and what connections reportedly say. For BMG it is his Gold Cup.
December 17, 2022 at 14:10 #1627157No, it’s not his “Gold Cup,” it’s the F-ing King George VI Chase.
I don’t know if you read Wind In The Willows as a child, Mike, but Toad got a year for stealing a car, three years for dangerous driving and 15 years for cheek to the Police, making 19 years, rounded up to 20 for good measure.
Justice Chezza sentences Mike to a year in prison for referring to the King George as L’Homme Presse’s “Gold Cup trial,” three years for saying the King George is Bravemansgame’s “Gold Cup” and 15 years for historical aftertiming about ante-post prices, making 19 years, rounded up to 20 for good measure.
Next case!

December 17, 2022 at 21:23 #1627182Just watch Lucinda interviewed and my reading between the lines concludes that if the ground is decent, Ahoy Senor will be at Kempton.
December 17, 2022 at 21:25 #1627183I think Joe loves Ahoy Senor even more than Don Constable (who bred him) does.

December 18, 2022 at 00:27 #1627189Honestly if he flops again they should consider a stayers hurdle route with ahoy senor
He has an engine but his jumping let’s him down again and again
