This may sound a daft question about a Gold Cup winner, but is he sure to stay the trip?

From what I remember Ginger I think he was pulling Geraghty for quite a bit round cheltenham in the gold cup so i’m not sure if he settled too well that day. I guess he didnt need to anyway as he was far better then anything on the day – all be it a poor renewal.

I would forgive his last king george as it was the race that he incurre the injury and its hard to say when he started to feel pain up the home straight.I’m sure it contributed to the finish tho as he is a far better horse then monkerhostin.

Anyway great to see him back…and it would be a thrill to see the himself, kauto, denman and exotic coming down the hill to third last in the gc

Ive gotta agree with you about seeing kauto denman, kk and exotic. would be a brilliant sight to see the 4 almost in a line, still on the bridle coming round the bend and up the hill. I thought it was a brilliant come back, like has been said, at a trip below what is his best and beating a fairly handy horse in Newmill.

Looking at the race, the was the only horse who was still yet to be pushed along before the 2nd last. And even after he hit the fence Geraghty was still sitting nicely. Thought it was a very good ride to take it easy on him, i dont think he used the whip once did he?

Problem is, he is 10 now so how much longer do they keep him in training at the top level?

I had my biggest ever bet on KK winning his GC so he will always hold a place in my heart.. I thought he travelled great and jumped well in the main. Geraghty said he blew up after five out which makes it an even better performance in my book. If that was his 2nd run of the season they probaby wouldn’t have pegged him back..

I’m not convinced running over 2miles is the best prep as he may not settle in the GC – But I guess there aren’t many opportunities and Denman will go off like the clappers anyway
