First trip there on Sunday; wonderful racecourse and very helpful and pleasant staff. Brilliant views and a wonderful track. Will definitely be back!

Spend most of my days travelling between tracks, but left much more the impression than trips to Catterick, Huntingdon and Warwick in the week!

Glad you enjoyed your day out JJM.

And it was good to see old Bescot Springs win :yahoo:

Was in the Bookies for the first race. In the preview they were raving about Danny Cook been far and away the best jockey in the north of England. He then unseated at the first. Talk about commentator’s curse.

Our favourite track. Treated ourselves to going in the stand with the roaring fire last time [good job we did as it was freezing]. Mind you, we usually watch from the last fence and chat to the groundstaff/medics down there. Nick Alexander took some of his horses out hunting at the weekend near our place; annoyingly I wasn’t there or I would have asked which ones were there.

Even the trainers; grabbed a word with Michael Scudamore after his brilliant mare won and Lucinda too, who reported One for Arthur to be absolutely bouncing after Saturday!

A proper jumps track – certainly my favourite track north of the border, I love the place.

The quirky stand with the roof viewing (that and Ludlow stand are two gems that should never be touched), the open fires, great food and always a friendly welcome.

It’s dated but that’s no big problem for me – much more preferable to concrete.

Do they still have the charity room – for £4 they had a buffet with the proceeds going to the nominated charity of the day.

    Good grief a 25% increase – lol
