keeping the book

hi all

ive been wondering for some time about this overound percentage, now if this has been made the day before say according to the racing post odds. how is it this percentage of the book is kept in the live betting on volotile markets, is the overound percentage already set on the sp prices or is it continually being set during market movement, id love to know this as part of my investigations….

i say this because just from adding up all the odds on the racing post fc and then the live fc then its substantially very different and im thinking maybe the ovveround percentage is way out of line?

If you mean at the course, then the *ahem* "integrity" of the over-round is maintained by making sure that prices are shortened first before lengthening anything – also known as the cardinal rule of on-course book-making and best exhibited on Grand National day.

If you mean on Betfair, it’s because of automated bots
