A big week in store and several I will be hoping to win for obvious reasons. A couple of short priced certainties to kick things off and I wanted to grab these prices now as I feel they will shorten.

I just can’t see how Camelot can turn the form round with Al Kazeem – he was beaten fair and square.

Just the Judge is the best mile filly and I think she was unlucky to get nabbed in the Guineas. She’ll make amends here. I’ll double these up too.

    £150 win Al Kazeem – 15-8 – Prince of Wales –

    £150 win Just The Judge – 5-2 – Coronation
    £50 win double the two

    More to follow on Tuesday.

A great win for this ever improving horse.

Hope I’m not a Jonah Joni, I’m on the same two. I took 9/4 Al Kazeem and can’t believe the SP, Camelot lemmings to thank no doubt. Unbelievably the Ladbroke shop I was in couldn’t get me a price for Just The Judge so I’m on at SP with her.

Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree but I’m going against Remote in the Tetrapak (or whatever it’s called) there is no doubt he’s improving fast but he won a handicap last time and he’s around about 3/1 for a stable yet to win at the meeting. Chopin is conceding 4lbs but is coming here from not a bad run in The Derby and at 6/1 I think he should be sound enough each way for Jamie Spencer.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

One more for today. I like Clive Brittain’s filly in the Queen Mary. I was worried about her with Joyeuse so glad to see she is running here!

    £25ew Rizeena – 13-2 – Queen Mary –

A really classy little filly this and was delighted for Clive Brittain. The sight of him jigging in the winners enclosure will take some topping this week! Glad she ran in this and not the Albany!

    £200ew Cape Peron – 9-1 – Brittania Stakes
    £25ew Montiridge – 11-2 – Jersey Stakes –

    £75win Chigun – 7-2 – Duke Of Cambridge –

    £75ew Mango Diva – 6-1 – Sandringham –

So Montiridge looked all over the winner but the O’Brien horse was tough.

Chigun came there travelling well but didn’t pick up at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if something was amiss. That or she didn’t handle the ground.

I never even saw Mango Diva!

On to tomorrow. I’m on weather watch as everyone says

    Cape Peron

will struggle on quick ground and may not even run! I simply can’t believe his price as I regard him as the cert of the week and will go in again tonight now that it is NRNB. There are lots of storms around tonight and tomorrow apparently so hopefully one will hit the course and he’ll be allowed to take his chance. This is a SERIOUS horse and I think he may make up into a group 1 performer.

Hi Joni, I backed him later in the evening when you took the 9/1, but I’m pretty sure PP were NRNB on the Brittania at that stage anyway. I’m also tempted to go in again with PP offering 6 places, looks quite the insurance policy for an e/w bet!

Paddy were nrnb but not sure if there was a stake limit. Betvictor go 5 places not the 6 that Paddy offer but if Hughes on Wentworth finishes in the frame you get your money back on win bet losses which could be better than the 6 places Paddy offer?

I have just checked my bet THM and it doesn’t mention NRNB – I hope you are right though! Those showers seemed to have stayed away but he is still an intended runner. I see he can still be backed at 7’s. Might even go in again.

For now I have added two bets in the Ribblesdale. I am wary of the Irish horse but hopeful that the two Prince Khaled horses will go well.

    £25ew Riposte – 9-1 – Ribblesdale
    £35ew Winsili – 4-1 – Ribblesdale

Thanks Nath – apparently there is a huge cloud heading their way! More good news that ironically Wentworth is a non runner!

Admin error apparently Joni, he still goes. Tell you what my hand would be that bit steadier right now if the rain were to come :|

Well he runs but the market is not speaking in his favour. I have gone in again at 8’s as I believe in the horse. I have done a sneaky little forecast just in case that Wentworth thing does me!

    £75ew Cape Peron – 8-1 – Brittania

Had a feeling Cape Peron would find this sort of race difficult and so it proved, plenty more pay days to come for the horse though!

Thoughts on Joyeuse in the first tomorrow? Don’t think the ground would inconvenience her too much.

Joyeuse has a lot more on her plate tomorrow and with the Cecil emotional factor I think she may be a silly price considering the numerous likely sorts in the line up. I like the look of Wonderfully for the O’Brien stable, a full sister to Mars who took time to get going in a Fairyhouse maiden before staying on to win by a couple of short heads. None of the first six home have run since but the 7th and 10th in that race have won subsequently.

As we saw with War Command, Aiden’s can make a big improvement for a run, as he only won by a neck first time up. I think she is worth a punt at 10/1 for tomorrow and she has been nibbled in for the classics recently. At 33/1 for the 1000 Guineas with Stan James I will risk a few quid, as I can’t see why Joyeuse is any value at 12/1.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

    £200ew Cape Peron – 9-1 – Brittania Stakes –

So I know this will sound like pocket talk but I thought CP was unlucky today. He raced separately from the first four finishers and came from a long way back. Watching it I thought he travelled like the winner and was counting my pennies two out but the finishers on the far side were racing against each other and I think that might have helped. Still thems the breaks in a large field and I am at least happy he ran into a place. As Rich says, other pay days await!

A wonderful win for Team Cecil and a really taking performance from the winner. She missed the break but still travelled beautifully and showed a real turn of foot. I would imagine it will be the Yorkshire Oaks followed by a possible Leger bid.
