Rebel Soldier, if it gets in.
Another Noseda Group hourse in a handicap, sorry layers.

June 20, 2010 at 05:20 #302156Supaseus was virtually pulled up in the Royal Hunt Cup, and has already been withdrawn from this, so it may be that we have seen the last of this hero.
June 20, 2010 at 05:25 #302157Fahey has 13 entries. A bit busy as the moment, but I’ll have a go later on at working out which one is the ONE.
June 20, 2010 at 07:39 #302165I have a longlist of 14 horses for this one.
I do like the staying flat races, so I reckon this could be pretty interesting.

So don't run, just like the others always do

Yeah, so do I. Fahey’s 13, and Rebel Soldier.

Actually, I am talking utter rubbish as I had a brainfart and confused this with the Northumberland Plate.

I have no idea why.
Sorry.

June 20, 2010 at 07:51 #302169Shock horror – the Northumberland Plate is now sponsored by John Smith’s.
June 20, 2010 at 10:00 #302189edit: Thanks Gerald
had "4yo" next to my notes, whoops!!
June 20, 2010 at 10:02 #302190Don’t go mad on Fahey runners Gerald
Forte Dei Marmi wins pulling Noseda’s on a long lead
June 20, 2010 at 10:02 #302192He’s a 3yo.
June 20, 2010 at 12:49 #302257I like
Hanoverian Baron
in this if he gets in.
Looks like this has been the aim all along and was entered up in the Duke of Edinbnrgh the other day right til the last minute.
Since joining Tony Newcombe and stepping up in trip the horse has only tasted defeat once in 4 races and that was to potential group horse Alainmaar (albeit getting lumps of weight)
Was at York last time when he won a very competitive handicap I thought very easily, travelling strongly and running on well to win with a fair amount in hand.
So that’s a progressive horse with course form in off a featherweight and goes on any ground having won on soft and gd/fm.
Whatever price he is when the race is priced up, you can guarantee he’d be a lot shorter if he was trained at one of the big Newmarket stables!

"He gave us a wonderful day last year when winning the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket. He is seven now and has struggled with his joints, so I think we are going to retire him when we can find a good home, ideally a professional showing yard."

I’m on Forte Dei Marmi at 14s and 10s. Was delighted to see Luca swerve the Wolfreton. Didn’t realise Noseda had one plotted up. Really starting to hate that guy.

For me the three which have caught me eye are;
Distant Memories
Ransom Note
Sand SkierJuly 1, 2010 at 13:04 #304013The problem with Hanoverian Baron was whether he was going for the Old Newton Cup instead, which we have just found out he is.
July 2, 2010 at 17:43 #304220See the Baron does still hold an entry for the Magnet Cup, but would doubt whether he will take his chance now, will keep checking though..
Anyway, I’m more than happy with being on at 8’s for tomorrow. Will take something special to stop the horse winning tomorrow IMO.
July 5, 2010 at 15:23 #304801Anyone got stats for how 3yo’s get on in this race? Cheers..
