I backed Dino at 12s ew this morning. Happy with that.
January 6, 2019 at 18:08 #1391606Cheers Greenasgrass.
Did what I wanted to see. Travelled well and picked up when asked.
It’s a very poor division this year and he’s deserving favourite at this point.
January 8, 2019 at 12:45 #1391804Master Dino out for the year…
January 8, 2019 at 13:20 #1391807Saw that. Gutted.
January 9, 2019 at 21:09 #1391971That is desperate news for you MoM, you had a good one there.
I really like this race, but it seems to be up in the air at the moment. I think if I had to right now, I would bet Mortal, but I will sit out for now. I’ll watch how his price goes.
January 9, 2019 at 22:47 #1391981Hardline or mortal for me also whatever one they send here, i like vinndication, i dont like the trainers dislike at sending horses to the festival! But hes surely a standout at the price given that la bague au roi is swerving and going to ireland->aintree or whatever..
Still, the giggy two for me whatever one shows at present, wont be having a bet yet
January 9, 2019 at 23:53 #1391985Judging by JOB’s comments when winning at Fairyhouse over 21F, he “will be an exciting horse when goes over a trip”…suggests to me it’ll be 3m and beyond, perhaps the 4miler.
Add to that his dam Pomme Tiepy was best over 3m+!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 28, 2019 at 23:44 #1394123Champagne Classic is a right bet for the JLT at 20s NRNB.
Won the Martin Pipe over this trip, then beat Penhill convincingly and his re-appearance was very good also. Most Stowaways prefer mid-range trips too.
Would like to see another run but at 20s its just too big NRNB.
February 1, 2019 at 10:48 #1394510My first bet on this is Hardline at 16-1 EW with b365.
He has only been beaten once over fences, in the Craddockstown when he was jumping into the sun, mistook the shadow cast in front of the fence for the takeoff board and took off a stride too early. He more or less landed on the fence and did well not to fall. Understandably he jumped a little gingerly thereafter but gamely tried to close down Voix de Reve (who, granted, had gone off like an idiot and jumped scrappily and isn’t the best 2m novice chaser in the country…but it was a fine effort from Hardline to stay in the race after that mistake.
His jumping before that and in his other chases has been efficient- he doesn’t hang in the air, gets away from his fences quickly and doesn’t lose too much momentum if he gets in a bit close. I like his attitude in a finish too. He also settles well and looks pretty straightforward. Much was made of Getabird’s mistake at the last to lose the G1 2m4f at Limerick at Christmas but Hardline was going to give him a race on the run in anyway.
Ground not too important, fast enough to win over 2 but I think he will stay 2m5f. I like him for the Flogas on Sunday. That tends to be won by a stayer but the ground is usually slower. Watching with interest.
February 2, 2019 at 16:11 #1394885Very happy with Defi DU Seuil today put him up at 14s now fave after that smart win
February 2, 2019 at 16:15 #1394888He’s a great little horse isn’t he? Lostintranslation is definitely decent so that was a good win today. Perfectly timed ride too.
February 3, 2019 at 17:36 #1395059I’d dismissed DDS as a potential top class hurdler due to the lack of scope in comparison to his peers but it’s been a brilliant novice campaign over fences, even if he gets beaten for the remainder of the season.
Fences appear to have rejuvenated him, possibly a lesson for connections of Samcro
February 3, 2019 at 17:59 #1395064La Bague au Roi very good today.
I wasn’t too disappointed by Hardline coming 3rd as he made up so much ground at the end having been held up, but was a bit concerned about his jumping. Previously his strong point but he screwed over a few today. He has settled well in behind in the past so I don’t think it’s that. Hope his back is ok.February 3, 2019 at 18:53 #1395078La Bague Au Roi is likely to skip Cheltenham altogether according to the trainer, so I’d be tempted to pile in on Defi Du Seuil and Lostintranslation nrnb as I’d be hopeful the former will have a go in the Arkle instead…
February 3, 2019 at 19:21 #1395085Since his first visit in 2010 Greatrex has had 47 festival runners and 2 winners. He’s on record as saying he lusts after Cheltenham winners. What are the real chances of him not going there with the best horse he’s had who’s already beaten the best England and Ireland have to offer?
Cheltenham fever will get to him no matter how sensible he sounds now.
February 3, 2019 at 19:36 #1395088If LBAR was a gelding then I think he would be more likely to risk it.
I’d like to see her run in this but can fully understand if they rest her for Aintree.
February 3, 2019 at 20:47 #1395097I’d love to see La Bague Au Roi head here, butcshoukd Greatrex stick to the plan, I would side with Kev on this race.
Not a race I usually play Antepost, but Champagne Classic at 20’s NRNB is very generous. The 33’s appeals also, but that NRNB makes some difference.
Not bet yet, but tempted.
