James Purnell Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, was due at a jobcentre in Leeds, yet did not show. This after staff had been told not too sing, "your so vain" in his prescence..
Add too this that staff noted his face appearing in group pictures at events he did not attend leading him too be nicknamed, airbrush by some of his staff…
November 14, 2008 at 02:42 #189650The staff proccessing jobseekers allowance are overstretched and they are having too recruit new staff on temp contracts till 2010.
Jobcentre plus was based on an ozzy model with lower unemployment, it didnt have the exstrea capacity built in, that and expereinced staff being moved too the ESA benifit.
The number of people claiming jobseekers allowance has been rising steadily for the last year long before the papers got wind of it.
December 13, 2008 at 19:44 #196735He was meant too come this time and didnt show, food was bought (M&S food at £7.50 per head), new crockery and the seats cleaned in the meeting room ( which meant my team meeting had too be movdd to a much smaller smelly room).
