– John Francome.
You just can’t argue with that.

August 1, 2012 at 14:32 #408561How about the comments regarding Frankel doesn’t stand out in the paddock!
August 1, 2012 at 21:41 #408637In my opinion Bruce, Frankel didn’t "stand out"
as much
as he usually does in condition. Muscle was there but the sheen on his coat wasn’t as good as I’ve seen it.
Value Is EverythingAugust 1, 2012 at 21:48 #408638Didn’t you guys know? That was Frankel’s first gallop since his last race Henry doesn’t like to overdo things at home

I agree with that Ginge. Looked better at Newbury and Ascot. Just wait for York!!!
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
August 1, 2012 at 22:32 #408646I’ve still got a nagging doubt about Frankel at 1m2f Joni. It’s asking a lot to expect a horse who shows top class sprinting fractions to be equally as good at 10f. He’ll probably win, but at likely prices I’ll be trying to find something else to back. Although of course it won’t stop me cheering on Frankel, no matter what!
Value Is EverythingAugust 2, 2012 at 11:46 #408687I think Frankel’s slightly less impressive paddock appearance and somewhat less explosive acceleration must be the result of his recent training.
Ahead of the Juddmonte International, he is probably going through some intensive stamina and speed endurance training. I think yesterday’s professional display reflects well on his chances of lasting 1m 2f without much bother.

It was a classic – I nearly sprayed my mouthful of tea all over the tv when old wurzel came out with that little beauty.
August 2, 2012 at 12:50 #408702I haven’t seen Frankel in the paddock, but I do remember TV pundits saying that he always gets a bit sweaty in the paddock and puts the tiniest doubt in ones mind. He is probably a rare horse that really relishes racing and gets excited, some horses do this and is commonly mistaken by many as a negative.
They also said yesterday as soon as he gets into rhythm the is no doubt. And is a beautiful sight.
August 3, 2012 at 09:22 #408797did Michael Jordan ever run over hurdles …I think not , it was Edwn Moses ….
Francome is a twit , I cannot stand him at all
Imo of course

Frankel does often have a kidney sweat in the paddock IAW, but that does not effect the shiny coat. Shiny coat went missing Wednesday, but he still got a bright gold medal.

MJ was the defining personality that made Basketball a popular sport. He was renowned for the time that he could hang in the air seemingly floating with a serene grace.
The art of hurdling requires an athlete to get over the obstacle with the greater speed and minimal lost of momentum. As you say Ed Moses would have been a more apt analogy as he used a 13 stride pattern that revolutionized 400m hurdling and he was far more graceful than those who have since run faster. Frankel’s greatest weapon is his exceptional stride that means he expends less energy covering the ground.August 3, 2012 at 10:51 #408807Off topic – Basketball is garbage. Foul. Foul. Basket. Foul. Foul. Basket. Repeat.
August 5, 2012 at 19:56 #409042I presume JF meant Michael Johnson?
August 5, 2012 at 20:17 #409044There really is no telling but if so it would be a terrible analogy. Michael Johnson had an unusually short leg cadence from whence he derived his exceptional speed, virtually the polar opposite of where Frankel gets his exceptional speed.
