On more than one occasion I’ve been halfway across Europe and back on one of O’Leary’s planes for about a score*. Say what you like about him, I’m a big fan. He’s an airline boss, I don’t expect him to know one end of a horse from the other. Or even a plane, that’s why he employs pilots.

*and not a penny extra paid to him, whatever people tell you about ‘hidden’ charges.

I’m hoping the handicapper tells O’Leary to go **** himself , if Gigginstown does win on Sat I’m not sure they,ll be the greatest reception ….if it’s Delta then maybe the money won will take , I’m hoping one gets done on the line ….one the handicapper has called bang right

Nice interview with O’Leary today in the Rp. Very generously saying how NH racing is full
Of lovely people, jockeys, trainers, owners etc

Came across very well in fairness and was slightly spoilt by the interviewer replying

“Then why are you such a c***?”

Blue I’m not sure you watch a lot of Irish racing , Gigginstown and Elliott spend whole winters hiding handicappers for the festivals , nothing wrong with it as long as know they are ( not unique in doing it ) , there def not Mark ” always trying ” Johnson

PS if it Michael id like to report Tatling comments as inappropriate ….. and tell Michael to leave before security throw him out …head first …using said head to open ….the window

O’Leary has said he would be willing to allow Ryanair aircraft to be used to fly failed asylum seekers from Britain to Rwanda, for the right price of course.

I believe it is very unlikely any of Ryanair’s short haul aircraft could fly that distance without having to stop somewhere en route.

It looks like another case of O’Leary saying anything for the publicity, on the grounds there is no such thing as bad publicity.

I liked the comment in the Times on that this morning
“Michael O’Leary, chief executive of Ryanair, has told the government that he would happily fly refugees to Rwanda. Given his airline’s preference for minor airports miles from the intended destination, it would be an ironic twist if their flights to Kigali actually landed at Lydd airport in Kent.”

I doubt his fleet has the range for that distance, but it gets him back in the papers.

Edit: Sorry CAS, I see you already covered that minor issue..

I know he doesn’t care what folk think of him, which is just as well as he is so easy to dislike. An arrogant twat with no class whatsoever. He sure doesn’t know how to win friends and influence people. He is so bloody annoying.

    O’Leary is a realist.
You’ve got to have a deterrent in order to stop the deaths / boats coming.
Fact is our legal system is no deterrent, in many ways it encourages people to get here.

imo It would’ve been better to have an area in France where people could go to apply to come to Britain.
In a similar way that Turkey does for the EU. But France does not want that.

I don’t think anyone actually wants to send people to Rwanda. But it needs to be a place nobody wants to go to, otherwise it would not be a “deterrent”.

‘It looks like another case of O’Leary saying anything for the publicity, on the grounds there is no such thing as bad publicity.’

It really is that simple. I can’t imagine he gives a toss about the actual issue either way. He’s only interested in publicising his business and it works. He has previously remarked that his planes are full of people who swore never to fly Ryanair again.
