I’ve landed on Champagne Platinum and Gevrey.
Champ Platinum is off lower, was unlucky in places last year, and still ran pretty well.
Gevrey shapes like he might just improve for this. Likes the track. Could possibly just be a horse that often shapes like he’ll stay this far + never do it, but worth a go at the price.
might add a third- either defi bleu or dolcita.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 10, 2023 at 16:38 #1642863I’ve landed on Amrite, Espanito Bello and Real Steel. I liked Amrite for the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham, but he didn’t go there. This trip should suit him and he is on a interesting mark. Espanito Bello was impressive last time and this price I hope to see him improve again and finally Real Steel, who looked to be near his best at Christmas and on this mark he could surprise if that is once again the case.
Amrite 8/1
Espanito Bello 22/1 EW
Real Steel 33/1 EWApril 10, 2023 at 16:55 #1642866Figures115-1173211F-11
The devilscoachman
Win
He’s won his last four completed starts and a two pound penalty suggests that the handicapper has a big ap ticket in the cupboard.
Still running several pounds below his hurdles rating.
Defi Blue
Each way
Should run an honest race.April 10, 2023 at 17:12 #1642869Well done anyone on the winner, I was getting excited about Gevrey but he was just too good. Little Dolcita ran a stormer
Gevrey for the Grand National next yearApril 10, 2023 at 17:14 #1642870Ill enjoy my humble pie tonight, three of the first four ran at Cheltenham..
Well done to those who won..April 10, 2023 at 17:14 #1642871Well done if you found that one.
April 10, 2023 at 17:16 #1642872Bit annoyed with myself for not doing Defi Bleu each way; ran another great race after his Cheltenham run.
Surprised no one on here didnt select the winner.April 10, 2023 at 17:20 #1642875I always back Defi and desperately wanted him to win regardless of whether or not I’d win any money on him. He always runs his heart out without winning.
April 10, 2023 at 17:21 #1642876Wilts, I never even looked at the winner due to his left jumping tendencies and the fact that he’d run 3 miles so recently (albeit nursed around gently popping away rather than hammered in a close finish).

Green – prob part of the plan before today’s race
April 10, 2023 at 18:18 #1642882I think the plan was course practice for the NH chase and not getting bottomed before today; then if he won today oh well you’d take an Irish National over a NH chase.
April 10, 2023 at 18:22 #1642883I officially give up on trends related betting
Every time I do the trends get busted
From now on il keep the money in my pocket in these big handicaps unless I have a strong fancy
Thought that was one of the best rides iv seen townend give a horse
The 3rd has run a huge race given they seemed to set a strong gallop
April 10, 2023 at 18:58 #1642884Thought Defi Bleu was going to keep going. Hell of a run.
WD winners.
April 10, 2023 at 19:30 #1642885I know we like a good moan about Mullins’ domination but the mans a genius if he can train I Am Maximus to win an Irish National and Dolcita to place 4th in one. They were two of the first on the couldn’t have list for me when I was looking, as greenasgrass said the winner looked like he needed to go the other way round last time he was here and that alone was enough to put me off for all his profile was very similar to Gaillard Du Mesnil. And as for Dolcita…. couldn’t have her in a million years, she’d not raced outside her own sex for like 3 years never mind the trip. Annoyingly I said to myself this morning he’ll train the winner the week he’s having but I didn’t really fancy any of his horses.
