disagree. disagree. disagree.
don’t see you disagreeing with anyone else’s opinion?
not that I value the view of someone who can’t tell a class horse when he sees one anyway.
EGS,
Stilvi (and Peruvian Chief come to that) often disagree with me. In fact seldom agree with me. Just try reacting to every post individually. I know it’s hard at times, as I’ve had my run-ins with both. But this is a forum and without disagreeing what would it be? PC isn’t always PC, but who is? Stilvi seems to enjoy finding fault at times, but she’s harmless really. Even find myself agreeing with at least some of her points. Stick around EGS, I could do with an ally.

Due repect Ginger, but I cannot remember you calling me (or anyone else for that matter) an "utter pr1ck" or asking for "praise". Or calling someone a "typical dodgy arab" (Absolutely DISGRACEFUL this was let go by admin on here by the way).
No great loss, but unfortunately its yet another attention seeking ploy and I’d back my last penny this poster will return to fire some more nonsense / vitriol.
May 27, 2013 at 13:14 #440906Jamie Spencer stated that the stiff finish at Ascot would suit Just The Judge and that he expected her to improve going forward. The old saying is that the fittest horse wins the Guineas and that certainly looked the case this year. I would be pretty confident Just The Judge will turn it around with Sky Lantern next time they meet. That is strengthened by looking at horses from the Hannon stable and how they have performed subsequently this season eg Toronado, Van Der Neer, Maureen, Olympic Glory, who have all been expected to progress but have run either modestly or poorly.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I remember agreeing with you on the "dodgy arab" comment at the time PC, but can’t say I’ve noticed any other EGS misdemeanors. As I said previously, prefer not to let other posts and threads influence opinion on another post/thread.

Despite backing Sky Lantern on the day Steve, I agree with you. Hannon was in particularly good form at the time. Just The Judge had not come in her coat and is a big sort, unlikely to be at her best early season/until filling her frame. A stiff finish should indeed suit the Hills filly, as long as it is a truly run mile. I’d be surprised if Sky Lantern starts at a shorter price than Just The Judge, although the French might have a big say.

Just to correct a couple of things. I take no pleasure in finding fault but I have no problem with a well constructed difference of opinion. Having said that I haven’t got that much time for endless posts going round in circles. I am definitely not female.
The bottom line is if you are looking for endless praise and constant agreement perhaps this isn’t the place to be. There can appear to be an old pals act at times but I am certainly not part of that and for sure I don’t waste my time looking out for certain posters. In this case the number of disagreements just corresponds to a large number of initial posts.
May 27, 2013 at 15:32 #440917I tipped up both winners of the Guineas on here (ok Just the Judge was fav but when I tipped up Magician he was about 6-1)
Not a single person came on here to praise me for that. All I get instead is some tool coming on here and every other post "I disagree again" or some utter prick "Get back in your pram"
Sums this forum up. I quit.
It seems a bit pot luck if someone sees and congratulates you on a winning tip. To be fair EGS, you do tend to change your mind a bit and perhaps some posters can’t recall what the actual tip ended up being. Sometimes here you just have to do your own congratulating. Disagreement is the name of the game and nobody gets it right all the time so best to just see it as a bit of fun. The forum needs more, rather than less, input so keep sticking your tuppenceworth in for others to agree or disagree with as they see it.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
May 27, 2013 at 19:08 #440944Either that, or let me know where I can worship at the house of EGS for tipping up a couple of jollies. We are not worthy!
May 27, 2013 at 21:38 #440967Endulging in self congratulatory, or waiting for the pat on the back, is a rather pathetic way to exist on an internet forum full of strangers.
If one of you backs a winner, why would anybody else care? Do i seek congratulations when i ate a large and filling meal, or had a winning session at poker etc.
Internet discussion is largely always going to be based around disagreements when focusing on sport results/predictions. Otherwise, there isn’t much to discuss, and it wouldn’t be particularly interest.
Just the judge won quite nicely and i remember thinking after the English Guineas that she wouldn’t be an ideal candidate for the oaks. Will be an interesting re-match at Ascot.
The Fillies classics are so far much more competitive (and last year too) even if of course the winners are inferior animals to the classic colts. Yet again i find myself yawning at the Colts classics, with a derth of competition outside of one stable and Dawn Approach.

I stand corrected Stilvi, thank you.
Being a filly, winner of the 1972 Duke Of York and one of the very best broodmares; progeny including Tyrnavos, Tachypous, Tenea, Tanaos, Tromos, Tolmi, Taxiarchos, – I must have presumed "Stilvi" to be female.Value Is EverythingMay 28, 2013 at 14:10 #440998As Stilvi does not like repetition, I’ve followed H in tranfering my post over to the Derby thread.

God forbid that this forum should ever become a place where someone could consider another poster as even slightly resembling anything as unthinkable or disgusting as a "Friend"
Neither should it ever be a place where newcomers to the sport could ever learn anything about the game through reading other people’s experiences and opinions or even perhaps following a poster’s tip and getting a winner out of it. That would make one physically sick to imagine such camaraderie existing.Fair enough we need differences of opinion and some cut and thrust but there’s nothing wrong with a friendly "well done" if someone picks out a winner or two. I think it a lot more useful than all the negativity in helping create a forum where people are not afraid to post. If you look at the members registered here, compared to the numbers that post regularly, if at all, there is a serious gulf in the numbers and it seems a bit of a shame that we have to accept that it will be a place where people are more likely to argue the toss than anything else.
I am Stevecaution but you can call me David. It is my real name after all.
