I napped through the whole race!
Missed it.April 9, 2012 at 22:09 #399831Well done fld.
I was chuffed with Leanne & Deal Dones performances, finishing 5th & 6th, but that was a good shout from you.

I was pleased by Leanne`s run too . Love the mare always a genuine run for your money.
Would love to see her run in the National.
April 10, 2012 at 07:18 #399844One thing I was a bit concerned with, though, was the amount of horses that pulled up. There were a lot still running with three to jump, but only nine finished.
Do we have an explanation for what happened there?

So don't run, just like the others always do
April 10, 2012 at 08:11 #3998505LD: Great shout and well done mate BUT how boring is that race!!
It is a handicap at the end of the day and about time they took out the Grand National from their title

Awesome shout with your 3 though

Admittedly, I remember, halfway or so, thinking ‘oh bloody hell, is there going to be any competition here’…but you can;t argue with that finish, I don’t think?
Plus, it’s a National. And Nationals, of all shapes, sizes, and locations, are ace.

March 28, 2013 at 02:14 #434173On Marrisonian at 20’s with Lads.Very inexperienced but was a G1 winner last season over hurdles, ran well over wrong trips last tice and he’ll ove this extended trip.Won on terrible conditions last year so heavy noproblem and should run well at a price forMullins and Ruby
March 28, 2013 at 15:02 #434191Can anyone explain to me why Whodoyouthink has an RPR of 178 when he doesn’t appear to have done much? I’m assuming it’s a misprint but have had a small ew just to be on the safe side.
March 28, 2013 at 16:09 #434193Moehat:-
According to At The Races website Whodoyouthink is running off 137 in the race.
ps This is last years thread!!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 28, 2013 at 20:47 #434208First post lads so be gentle with me. Ground is officially Heavy as of Wed 27th March
Heavy bottomless ground – Panther Claw – will keep on staying on and on
Soft – Rich Revival – might need the heavy side of soft.
G/S – Romanesco – good Cheltenham run, would need good to soft

March 29, 2013 at 00:43 #434226I know but darranm3 kick started it again! Whodoyouthink is in TRP with an OR of 137 but a RPR of 178 which means he’s got the highest RPR of any horse in the race. This is what I’m confused about.
March 29, 2013 at 03:05 #434229Haha sorry this came up when I searched for the Irish National

That figure of 178 simply can’t be correct. Bobs Worth is on 180 and Long Run 170 on RPR. This lad isn’t in the same league.

March 29, 2013 at 16:35 #434278Whodoyouthink has a top RPR of 154 this season
Like the profile of Marasonnien and the form with the RSA winner looks good now but all recent winners of this had previously won a chase at a right handed track. Lacks a bit of experience.
Going to take a chance that Katie Walsh can record her first success over these fences. Panther Claw improving and bred to stay
March 30, 2013 at 01:58 #434346I know that this race keeps throwing up big priced winners but Panther Claw just keeps leaping out at me
March 30, 2013 at 12:32 #434408Whodoyouthink did win a chase at Punchestown by 17 lengths last year and has been kept mainly hurdling since then [when he has ran in a chase he’s tended to either fall or PU!]. So I can’t ignore him at a big price even though I have no expectation of getting my money back. I think TRP are just paying me back for browsing their site without paying them because, on my pooter they’ve still got him down as RPR 177 [his OR is @135].

If I remember what I read today correctly, he’s well enough bred, he ran well in a grade 3 race a few years back, returning a speed figure of 154 or some such, and I don’t believe he was all out. It was anomalous in relation to the rest of his form, but has he been laid out for this? The recent history of the race has a lot of winners carrying 10 stone and a few pounds. That’s my ‘reasoning’, having been pointed in its direction by its RPR.
I also wonder about old Muirhead.
