Supposedly the decision on Workforce was waiting until this week. If he goes, it will mean Epsom didn’t jar him up too badly and he will go to the Curragh as worth favourite.

If not, I don’t see anything in the current entries to suggest that Ballydoyle/Coolmore won’t extend their winning streak to 5/6 respectively, except Passion for Gold if he is fit again – does anyone know? What ever happened to Kingsfort, is he still injured? Come on, Suroor!!!

    Possible Supplements:
I think Godolphin’s biggest mistake would be to not send Rewilding here. He looked like he could win a Workforce-less Derby, and the 12f trip seemed great for him. Unfortunately, it seems he is being looked at as simply a Leger contender, and won’t be supplemented for this.

From France, the Jockey Club winner is not even being kept at 10.5f, let alone being tried at 12f, but the 2nd Planteur could be a challenge to AOB, were he supplemented. I think the 4th Behkabad would have also have a good chance, but will be sent for the GP de Paris.

The track at the Curragh would probably suit REWILDING better but I think the best of him won’t be seen until next season.

I can see him being lightly raced for the rest of the campaign….

Forget anything that hasn’t run in a Classic. Captain James Cook’s entered, surely an oversight…

Unfortunately Midas Touch and Jan Vermeer stick out like sore thumbs. British-trained horses have a dire record here. Have to go back to 1994 to find one.

Disgusting lack of professionalism for RP to have Captain James Cook in the entries.

I don’t always agree with Mr Wilson but he’s 100% correct on this one, VERY POOR on the part of RP, do they not employ an editor? It must be particularily distressing for the connections of the poor horse

Re: ‘Rewilding’ – I see that connections have marked him as being a ‘Leger contender’.
So unfortunatley we should expect to see him running in next years Gold Cup Ole – a la ‘Kitewood’! :|

Why so a ‘Leger contender’? – I’m not quite sure Ole?
First off he looked very light to me before the Derby (another reason why I’d like the weights to be made public knowledge)…
Second most of his race experience was going right handed – Godolphin failed to prep him correctly – I feel and have said before that he should have raced in the ‘Greffulhe’ the traditional French trial for Epsom – (left handed)!
By going to Goodwood they didn’t learn anything with how he’d take to Epsom and it made the races come far too close for my liking! (hence his lack of weight?)

The tiny details are what can make the difference sometimes – I.e Stoute taking ‘Workforce’ to Lingfield…
would they have not been better off doing the same?

To my mind they made a hash of his prep – made it up as they went along…
Frankie didn’t say Leger animal when he got off after Goodwood – did he?!
Nor did the time (final sectional was good) of his first up run behind ‘Plantuer’ when paddock judges felt that ‘Rewilding’ would come on more for the run.
Add to that the comment ‘Guyon le Doyen’ made post race , "he has a very good turn of foot" – then I agree with yourself and Mordin in that he’s being scrap heaped far too early! :o

Now could be wrong – watch him go over sticks at some point – or win the Gold Cup?! – But there don’t seem too much to be wary of…

Do as AOB does – strike whilst the iron is hot!

I just have a feeling (if they are scratching for something to run) that another horse who ‘might’ not be suited to the track over there – may get sent for this…

There could be a couple of others who would be of interest if they get the SUPP!
Just depends on whether they feel the GPDP will be too ‘chaud’ and ‘if’ the jock puts in the word!

I think Cape Blanco could be the 1 if he runs and if the Ballydoyle horses come back to form and they seem to be with them having a double at Ascot today

Workforce is going to take on his elders at Ascot in the King George rather than do the Derby double at the Curragh.

I’m pleased with that, I think the Irish Derby would have been the easy option and it will give a real boost to the KG.

Yep, good to see the impressive Derby winner going for the big one. I know it’s still pretty early to bash the form, but he may have to improve a fair bit to take the spoils. Stoute may well be giving him the time to do so. He knows what it takes.

Agreed. This is good news for the King George, times have changed but it used to be almost automatic for the Derby winner to go to Ascot. Those were the days.

Certainly be a decent renewal, what with Workforce and perhaps Harbinger(nice winner just now) in the line up.

Great news a real shot in the arm for the King George. I hope Harbinger goes there as well even though he’s from he same stable because his Royal Ascot win was top class form and he’ll set a good level for the three year old to have to overcome.

With the likes of Sariska, Ask, Youmzain and Dar Re Mi also possibles runners Workforce is going to have to be a top three year old to win.

Ryan Moore will be gutted. I can’t imagine he’ll find it easy choosing between Harbinger and Workforce.

Ryan Moore will take all of two seconds to make up his mind – and then choose to ride the Derby winner.

Harbinger is good but Workforce is better – and

    I think he’s a certainty to win. 8)

I pricked up my ears after the Hardwicke, when Moore was asked how impressive he thought Harbinger had been.

His reply ("He likes beating up on inferior horses") struck me as incisive and revealing. I’m not sure his jockey was convinced that Harbinger has the mental toughness to win a Group 1 against top class opposition.

    Perhaps winning the Hardwicke

    was

the plan for this horse. A 12f Group 1 is likely to be a different proposition, unless he can find a soft one abroad.
