Well done Jeff, good call that
February 6, 2021 at 15:27 #152171810 wins from 10. Won by 10 lengths. All the tens
February 6, 2021 at 17:00 #1521764Thank god Honeysuckle isn’t trained by Mullins.
BUY THE SUN
February 6, 2021 at 20:09 #1521803Given he already has Concertista and Benie, and very little 2m Champion hurdlers, i’m not sure the outcome would be different here Tatling…..

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 6, 2021 at 20:54 #1521817She would be in the Mares if she was trained in Closutton. You are nuts if you think otherwise.
BUY THE SUN
February 6, 2021 at 21:22 #1521822What would happen with Concertista and Benie then? When you’ve already got a strong pack in the hurdle and chase but not very much in one of the Championship races?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 7, 2021 at 09:28 #1521869I took a bit of criticism when I queried the Official View that Saint Roi was unlucky behind Abracadabras earlier in the season.
I think it is fair to ask: what was Saint Roi’s excuse yesterday? And why did he finish even further behind Abracadabras?
February 7, 2021 at 09:43 #1521872Saint roi has ran out of excuses , I said the day that Abra beat him that I didn’t believe he was unlucky , he won a hcap well at the festival but he,s not convincing at this grade , they’ll prob take there chance in the champion but if he was mine he,d be going back up in distance , hezs not quite quick enough
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 7, 2021 at 10:36 #1521878Agree. I backed him in the County but I have learned over the years that horses which bolt up in strongly run, big field handicaps find it a whole different ball game when they are running in smaller field graded races against better horses.
He may not even run in the Champion. McManus has two better candidates in Epatante and Buveur D’Air.
February 7, 2021 at 10:38 #1521879If you had him cork where would you go with him ? , personally I think the aintree hurdle would be perfect
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 7, 2021 at 10:48 #1521882Yes, I was thinking Aintree Hurdle. Epatante will clearly not go there and Buveur D’Air has been beaten in it even at his peak, so maybe he would be McManus’s best chance in the race. Although I am not convinced he would be up to winning it.
February 7, 2021 at 13:29 #1521935Thank you GaG and VtC
February 7, 2021 at 22:52 #1522111Cork, because he’s ran a very bad race. He finished a nk behind Aba the time you are talking about.
Aba was hammered at xmas, and had the stable form excuse. What’s to say Saint Roi won’t have something appear? Wait + see.
End of the day, this Aba vs Saint Roi forum debate is bizarre, neither are good enough on what they’ve shown.
Aba was beaten 10l yesterday too…..he’s hardly increased his CH credentials….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 8, 2021 at 04:21 #1522157I did not suggest Abracadabras did enhance his CH credentials. But I would still back him in any match bet with Saint Roi.
I am not sure Saint Roi ran a bad race. I think he ran as well as he can. The stable could not be in better form. Honeysuckle is just better and that 7lbs mares allowance meant everything else in the race had an impossible task. And she was backed like defeat was out of the question.
February 8, 2021 at 17:35 #1522221Jack Abra scopped badly at Xmas which explained the run , if you watch yesterday’s race he wasn’t knocked about at all , prev chelt fest formlines are always worth there weight in gold and it has to be remembered Abra is the only horse to give shiskin any type of race , personally I think he,s a great e.w bet , yesterday honeysuckle ran like a champ hurdler , however the prev race in which she hung on from Ronald pump wouldn’t win 1 , I just think something might tap her for speed

February 9, 2021 at 00:00 #1522279HDLG, as i said he had the stable form excuse- i’m aware he did. That wasn’t the point i was making.
He was hammered anyway and when a horse has a bit of a dubious attitude, not being knocked about isn’t something i consider much. Aba is a horse we’d all suggest is a very strong travelling type, and to be honest, the jockey did get to work on him to no avail.
Fair enough if you think he’s going to place, but for me you’re racing for 1 place behind the two mares at this stage…
Honeysuckle was having her debut at Fairyhouse this year so i wouldn’t take that form literally, also Pump was race fit and is no average horse.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 9, 2021 at 17:01 #1522352” He was hammered anyway and when a horse has a dubious attitude ” , Jack he scopped badly , not stable form , he was ill therefore you have to put a line through the run , as for dubious attitude when and where did he show that , I’ll make the point again he is the only horse to give Shiskin a race and he also got as near as anything has to Envoi Allen , first time out even though he got to the front to early he ground out the win , to each there own but I have no fears regarding his attitude
