Awesome ride from David Casey, fantastic.
January 24, 2010 at 13:52 #271816Pretty much says Sizing should win the Arkle

Somersby looks about as useful as Calgary Bay

Both will be Gold Cup horses! Mark my words!
January 24, 2010 at 14:29 #271820Best of luck with those projects
January 24, 2010 at 14:34 #271821How it looked to me….
Front two went off too fast, surprised Ruby got sucked in.
Zaarito was in at least a grade too high.
It was obvious from some way out that something was going to come and "do" themDoubt if An Cathaoir Mor is an Arkle horse, the others certainly won’t live with the top Irish trio (Sizing Europe, Captain Cee Bee, Osana)and therefore may as well stay at home.
Maybe it’s worth a try for An Cathaoir Mor though, improving horse looked to have something in hand today, especially if Henry De Bromhead is looking at the Champion for Sizing EuropeJanuary 24, 2010 at 14:34 #271822Calgary Bay is a gold cup horse, the Paddy Power gold cup. That’s if he improves dramatically, he might just get placed.

If he does, there’s no question of Sizing Europe turning up for the CC. An Cathaoir Mor was impressive, and the jockey knew from early on that one or two of them might have been getting ahead of themselves. That Nicholls horse was dissapointing, what was the ground like with regards to times, because i was wondering if the good drainage at Leoprdstown would have done his chances in ?

I don’t think AN CATHAOIR MOR stands a chance in the ARKLE, would be surprised if he even made the frame.
The ground did not look heavy, this would not have helped the Nicholls horse. Saying that, it was still a below par performance from the beast.

….and another below par performance by his jockey
January 24, 2010 at 19:46 #271900According to the horse’s trainer after the race, An Cathaoir Mor is unlikely to go to Cheltenham.
