If Qabala can steer clear of the AOB horses and kick clear…she will win
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 26, 2019 at 13:17 #1441684JUST WONDERFULL 6/1 I got in this race
May 26, 2019 at 14:04 #1441688I’d love to see Qabala do well here, she looked outstanding in the Nell Gwyn, and she
was undoubtedly unlucky in the 1000 Guineas when perhaps she was halted a little when
it came to the business end of the race. However she wasn’t the only one that had problems
to overcome, and perhaps none more so than Just Wonderful, who was drawn out in the car
park, and the way the race unfolded she was on the wrong side. Nonetheless she was making
up good ground towards the finish, and although she’s drawn 1 (which didn’t do Phoenix Of
Spain any harm yesterday), she can still drop in if she wishes with only 9 rivals to get
past this time. She’s been deserted by Ryan Moore, but it wouldn’t be the 1st time that
Donnacha stepped in for the winner, and I don’t think it indicates they necessarily see
JW as a 2nd choice. I’ve taken the 11/2, but I think I’ll also have a smaller
covering bet on Qabala at 7/2. In fact, I’ll do the rev f/c
May 26, 2019 at 15:09 #1441690Just Wonderful for me too
agree with BigG plus she should come on leaps and bounds for that 1st run looked fresher than a newly born daisy.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
May 26, 2019 at 16:22 #1441698East at 10s for me.
Good luck everybody.
May 26, 2019 at 16:32 #1441699Impressive by Hermosa but the rest look a very mediocre bunch tbf
May 26, 2019 at 16:37 #1441701Qabala totally blocked wherever she went might as well have stayed at home.
Look forward to hear jockey comments she didn’t even get the chance to get into gear.Well done Hermosa backers nothing was going to get near today.

The AOB team have done it again.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 26, 2019 at 16:39 #1441702Glad I covered myself
Giving a proven front runner who will stay further an easy lead meant the race was over after 200 yards
Must be a nice horse to ride as she looks very straight forward
May 26, 2019 at 17:15 #1441706Well that was pretty conclusive, she must be quite decent to do the 1000 Guineas
double. Well done to anyone who kept faith with the form of the 1000 G. I know what
you mean Jac, Qabala didn’t have much daylight ahead of her during the race, and it
will be interesting to see how she does after this. I think she’s better than this,
but not quite in the category of unlucky loser on her performance today. It will be
interesting to see what Roger Varian has to say, I suspect she wasn’t firing on all
cylinders today.May 26, 2019 at 17:23 #1441707Hermosa was a worthy winner but agree it doesn’t look a vintage renewal. Qabala reported to have scoped abnormally after the race. East also seemed to stop as if shot, though maybe just didn’t handle the ground. Pretty Pollyanna ran a decent race for her seasonal debut.
May 26, 2019 at 17:48 #1441720Just watched the race again twice on Sporting Life and its clear that Qabala is hemmed in by Fairyland and Just Wonderful with Iridessa in front of her because when she trys to move out Just Wonderful moves to block Qabala then moves back and when she tries again Just Wonderful gets in her way once more. Fairyland is hugging the rail to her right so no way through there either and Iridessa is still blocking her way ahead. If you look you can see Qabala is hemmed into a triangle, team tactics worked very well to keep Hermosa up front and unchallenged today.
Iridessa will be the one to win her next outing as she was not even being ridden until the last stages of the race and finished impressively.
Would be interested to hear any other views on that and also the running of East and whether I’m the only one suspecting team tactics were used today.
Bad scope apart David Egan was never given the chance to get a clear run for Qabala.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 26, 2019 at 18:36 #1441787There wasnt any team tactics from what I saw
Qabala was angled out for a run and blocked in by East not one of the ballydoyle battalion
Any chance of her winning had gone at that point
There seemed to be a massive track bias in the races I saw at the curragh over the two days, nothing from the back was getting into the races, maybe the form from these two days wont hold up that well going forward
If you weren’t prominent you had almost no chance
May 26, 2019 at 18:46 #1441790Thanks FF appreciate the feedback.
I’m taking another look later, of course nothing will change the result and the winner was exceptional.£40,000 to supplement she must have been showing something at home and Main Edition 7th in the Nell Gwyn has won the 1000 Guineas in Dusseldorf today.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 27, 2019 at 10:17 #1441877The winner is very smart; Just Wonderful needs a trip and more room ( didn’t appear to enjoy being hemmed in near the rail )
Qabala wasn’t good enough on the day
I’d be interested in Hermosa over ten at Leopardstown
May 27, 2019 at 12:24 #1441973Qabala was the big disappointment- i wouldn’t pass it off as team tactics, as i think East caused her the most of her “traffic” she couldn’t switch out when needed. She has also failed to pick up completely which is strange.
Superb performance from Hermosa, worth remembering though, the 2nd and 3rd are probably not 100% proven at the trip. Whilst the 4th and 5th probably are in need of further. Still, she’s the best by some way.
