One I’ve been waiting for runs in a nursery today and that is Astroangel in the 3.55 Warwick. Has gained her mark over 5f and 6f and ran well enough on her nursery debut at catterick last time when the test of speed was against her, doing best work at the finish having been slowly away. Handicapper has been rather genrous in dropping her 4 lb. Step up to 7f is a bonus whilst her low draw is hardly a negative and Patrick Hills (of whom I wouldn’t be his biggest fan) though he does claim 7 lb. Big run expected.
Non Compliant is another that looks to be back at the correct trip, failing to settle doing for him over 7f last time. Handicapper may have taken a chance with his mark of 81, his debut form run in a good time has thrown up winners including Kilburn (who must also go well in the nursery at Ayr off 88) who he gave a 4 lb beating to and his second start when he was caught wide but still ran the subsequent listed winner Not For Me to a neck at Wolverhampton.
Both are available at around 13/2.
September 16, 2006 at 12:49 #74789Good luck with that Grassy and Underscore. I thought last time he either wasn’t off or got a s**t

I’m sure your friends will be a little bit disappointed with that as he’d have been battling it out for second had he got a clear run through on the rail. I’ll certainly be keeping him on my side in similar events in the coming weeks.
September 18, 2006 at 06:38 #74792Morning chaps.  Yes gutted at the result but plenty to take out of the race.  Ryan Moore thought we could get plenty further even at this stage.  Had Culhane not drifted in front of us we would have got second no doubt.  (The stewards agreed…. ) No-one except the winner was finishing so well.  16s was a massive price and it seems that the bookies continue to understimate us (long may that continue).  Ryan was very positive about the horse – telling us it was the best he’d sat on all day.  That’ll do for me. He was the best looking horse in the paddock and will make a great 10-12f three yr old.
We are probably looking at one more race before we put him out for a rest.  There is a 0-95 handicap at Newmarket mid Oct.  That will probably be his sign-off.
Our new pruchase Delray Beach goes at Hexham on29th Sept.

September 18, 2006 at 12:21 #74793Anyone else of the opinion that Lady Lily has been let in lightly judged on her effort behind Eddie Jock at Brighton on her second start. 9/2 looks worth a few quid.
September 18, 2006 at 15:37 #74794Might not be one sure to follow up, probably didn’t have to improve to win that race in all likelihood.
September 19, 2006 at 06:31 #74795I happily got the 9/2 as part of an e.w double with another lilly horse….mug punters etc… The 4pm at Newm looks a cracking Nursery. We’ve ran against a few of these and Heywood has improved 100% since we beat him. My fancy though is Wordly his 2nd to Streets Ahead puts him clear of the rest in this. Not sure if he’ll handle the fast ground though.

The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule 153(iii) into possible interference inside the final furlong. They found that PRINCETON (IRE), ridden by A Culhane, placed second, had interfered with MOONWALKING, ridden by R Moore, placed sixth. They considered that the interference was caused by careless riding in that A Culhane had allowed his mount to drift left. They cautioned A Culhane as to his future conduct in races.
<br>A CAUTION!!! I reckon a 7 day ban would suffice. Not that I’m bitter.
September 20, 2006 at 14:31 #74797Heres a 2yr-old which impressed no end and i reckon we will be seeing more of this fellow PROPONENT is the name and he could be a Derby candidate next year!!!
September 24, 2006 at 11:06 #74798My Learned Friend has got in quite well at Ascot today off 80. The ground’s an unknown, of course.
September 24, 2006 at 13:06 #74799keep an eye on Slate in betting, but i’m following Just Dust over the cliff :cheesy:
September 24, 2006 at 13:18 #74800Cracking ride imo
September 25, 2006 at 06:59 #74801Moonwalking goes again on Thursday at Ayr. Will need to monitor the ground though – if it stays too soft he wont go. Its been a bit wet up here for the last 24 hours.
September 26, 2006 at 12:28 #74802A couple look of interest in the 2.00 at Goodwood. Urban Warrior looked on the way back at Warwick last time, staying on well and shaping as if this extra furlong will suit. Nothing wrong with his form from earlier in the season and he’s dropped a lot in the weights. Definetly worth a few quid at around 25/1. Have also backed Aegis in the same race at around 8/1, he’s shaped as if being brought along with nurseries in mind and looked like this extra 1f would suit well when keeping on from rear at Chepstow last time. The yard has already struck a couple of times in nurseries.
Very interesting race at Nottingham is the 5.05 over an extreme trip of 10f. Plenty look ready for that test already including Rikochet. He’s contested some half-decent maidens, particularly his Sandown one whilst his Warwick form behind Artimino is quite solid. By Generous this trip should suit and he looks on a good mark so is worth a bet at 8/1.
September 30, 2006 at 13:43 #74803Naayla is back at 5f at Kempton today. Jockey booking nor draw look particularly positive but she is well handicapped and this is her trip so 10/1 is too genrous I think.
