I’d rather not have seen Faivoir in here, but having bet him for County Hurdle, I’d certainly cover him if he came here.
Faivor in the entries is probably enough to stop me having an Antepost, but if Metier was available at bigger than current 14’s, I’d probably change my mind. I’ve only bet him once before, and that was an Antepost loser for The Greatwood, but he’s a horse I like. Fry can get him ready for the bigger occasions, and he should get his conditions. No Cheltenham entry, and this looks as if it might be the plan. Main hope.
Making Headway is a promising sort from a yard I follow, and this looks perfect, but the eyecatching one at decent odds is Sans Bruit.
Seen a few good words for him, and he looks potentially very good. By all accounts not going to Cheltenham, and very interesting here at 16’s. Although he didn’t go to Kelso, he was subject of strong support for The Morebattle.
A lot will depend on if Faivoir went, and I’ll cover him if he goes, but for now, an early Shortlist of two………
Metier
Sans BruitMarch 4, 2024 at 17:31 #1683574Goonhilly appeals at 33s. I think he has plenty of improvement in him but can’t be sure he’ll run given the amount of Skelton entries. Sans Bruit also strikes me as the type to improve a chunk from his stable debut and I have also read comments suggesting they have high hopes for the horse. 16s is tempting enough to bet him now.
March 4, 2024 at 22:23 #1683600I will be interested to see if Favoir –
1. Runs in this.
2. Who rides him.
Looks like he is on the same mark (OR136) for this as he is on for the County Hurdle, which he won last year off OR134.

March 7, 2024 at 08:48 #1683850I am in the exact same boat as V here. I really fancy Knickerbockerglory for this and backed him on Tuesday but never wanted to see Favoir heading here. They both are jocked up so we will need to see later on this morning what’s what.
I’ll just have to split up my stake on Favoir if they both go. A tough race like.
March 7, 2024 at 13:29 #1683867I’ll split stakes here with KnickerbockerGlory and Sans Bruit both at 10-1. Best renewal for a few years this

March 8, 2024 at 14:08 #1683966I noticed that Minx Tiara is listed in the RP racecard as having a new trainer, David O’Brien in Tarporley, Cheshire. He is 0/4 this season in the UK.
The previous trainer is David M O’Brien in Co. Kilkenny. He is 18/297 in the last five seasons in Ireland.
Is this the same person who has re-located? Is it a cock-up by the RP? Is it the world’s most unlikely coincidence? Anyone have any info?
March 8, 2024 at 17:53 #1683994Agree with most
Go Dante looks the solid option
Sans bruit the wildcard, could win easy could be pulled up
Happy to back the pair of them
March 8, 2024 at 18:50 #1684004Looking forward to tomorrow’s Imperial Cup at Sandown I’ve been through the lot
and despite topweight’s poor runnings in this race I can’t get away from thinking
there is more to come from Spirit D’aunou. He won 4 out 0f 5 last year and Gary
Moore brought him out after a break in the Betfair Hurdle. Now I’m not saying
there was anything untoward about his run (15th of 21) but the young apprentice
had him out the back from the start ( he said the horse was never travelling)
but I didn’t see any particular effort to improve his position. The handicapper
seemed not to be overly impressed and didn’t drop him 1lb.Gay Moore is a bit of an old fox and this has been the target and he’s entered in
the County Hurdle too. That £100,000 bonus probably didn’t cross his mind, you knowSpirit D’Aunou 18/1 Corals
March 8, 2024 at 22:01 #1684051Lively Citizen was second in this race two years ago, on a 8 pound higher mark. He has been running over fences mostly, but reverted back to hurdles last month. He finishesed second at Musselburgh and the winner won again last week. Worth an EW shot.
Lively Citizen 40/1 EW (5 places)

March 9, 2024 at 10:55 #1684126Bloody Hell, what happened to the £50,000 or £100,000 Bonus for this
and any race at Cheltenham, I thought Paddy Power was still running
that. Appears not so, what a pity.March 9, 2024 at 10:57 #1684127Going with the progressive CD winner Georgi Girl, her jockey takes 7lb off and won on her last time out.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
March 9, 2024 at 10:59 #1684128It is the Morebattle that offers that bonus now.
