Finish of the week for me :D

I was actually gonna have a large bet on Zarkandar but changed my mind. I began cursing myself when Zarkandar was pulling double with Reve De Sivola looking desperate approaching the last. Even after the last hurdle Zarkandar looked like never being beaten, by which time, my fingers were close to extracting some hair from my head…

Then came the terrific counteroffensive. A fine example of a stamina horse prevailing over a speed horse.

    Oh the relief!

Ever since he won the triumph, I’ve always had Zarkandar down as a stayer and was dumbfounded as to why connections waited three years to try him over his optimum trip of three miles. Reve De Sivola is as tough as old boots but I think Zarkandar emerges from this with his Stayers’ Hurdle chances greatly enhanced now he has another year on his back.

Fantastic race though. Enjoyed it very much without even the slightest considerations to the punting aspect of the sport.

Nowt to do with speed or stamina imo GORV, all to do with temperament.

    Zark – gave it away.

    Pricked his lugs
