I had to type in my local track Fontwell and there is some footage from 1949 with Moaveen running for the queen who is visiting the course to watch it run!
June 5, 2012 at 16:15 #406989By use of the search on that site, I’ve found film of races from Ascot, Alexandra Palace, Brighton, Doncaster, Epsom, Goodwood, Lincoln, Manchester, and Salisbury.
I was sent a link on Twitter today that includes some of the Pathe footage from Ally Pally which Alan was probably referring to. No sound, but otherwise entirely watchable footage of what I understand is / was McCririck’s favourite course of all time. Enjoy!

Looks like the above fixture has found its way onto Youtube since the above was posted. Have a look at the fastest, sharpest Point-to-Point track in the country, still using basically the same layout (and the same grandstand) as ever it did in the 1930s.
The course, incidentally, is run by the Gingells (as in Matt), and the starter is one Sir Mark Prescott.
