Not true TTC.
Value Is EverythingAugust 5, 2021 at 17:35 #1553471The “actual aim of fox hunting” is to kill the fox, NOT to be “ripped apart“.
Once the fox is dead it is dead; does not feel any more. So usually when a fox is “ripped apart” (as you call it) it feels nothing.
However, just like in horse racing “tragic accidents” in fox hunting “happen” – like “most physical sports“.Value Is EverythingAugust 5, 2021 at 17:35 #1553472Really. What is the result of a ‘succesful’ hunt? Do they give Basil a nice cuddle and last meal of chicken, before a tearful and painless euphanasia? I’ve never been on ‘a hunt’, but read enough to know the crack.

August 5, 2021 at 17:42 #1553475Oh if you “read enough” it must be true, TTC.
Value Is EverythingAugust 5, 2021 at 17:44 #1553476Presumably you have been on mahy Hunts GT, as the written word is clearly not an adequate source of information?
How did these Hunts you participated in finish?

August 5, 2021 at 17:46 #1553478I did not “participate” as such TTC, but the finishing result was a dead fox.
Value Is EverythingAugust 5, 2021 at 17:57 #1553479Sounds like great larks. Shameful

August 5, 2021 at 18:25 #1553483The Burns Report into fox hunting did not explicitly state that fox hunting was cruel. Lord Burns said:
“Naturally, people ask whether we were implying that hunting is cruel… The short answer to that question is no. There was not sufficient verifiable evidence or data safely to reach views about cruelty.”
Hunting was banned because Blair had upset his dimwit backbenchers by duping them into voting in favour of the Iraq War. When they finally realised what they had done, Blair got them back onside by banning hunting, even though he did not really believe in the policy himself.
August 5, 2021 at 18:42 #1553485I cannot believe that the Government thought they would upset a minority off tally-ho merchants in a plan to balance off the bad feeling of killing millions in an illegal War.
Sounds like Pro-Hunt propaganda to me CAS. And far-fetched stuff at that.

August 5, 2021 at 19:04 #1553488I’ve said on here before that National Hunt racing should be renamed Jumps racing, so now seems as good a time as any to voice it again.
Whether hunting is cruel or not is irrelevant. The general population associates it with killing foxes, which is a totally unnecessary and unattractive thing for a modern sport to be associated with.
August 5, 2021 at 19:12 #1553490“Flat Racing,” “Jumps Racing” and I would have no objection to renaming Hunters’ Chases and Hunter Chasers “Pointers’ Chases” and “Pointer Chasers.”
Like it or not, image is everything nowadays and it’s an easy, painless, way to survive.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 5, 2021 at 19:13 #1553491Blair in effect admits it in his bizarre autobiography. Lots of backbench Labour MPs were furious when it finally dawned on them they had been lied to and conned. So Blair needed to keep them sweet.
August 5, 2021 at 19:16 #1553492Looks like it is awful weather for the Craig David concert at Sandown, where a few horses have been running around beforehand.
Is it wrong of me to think that is quite amusing?
August 5, 2021 at 19:20 #1553494Re-e-wind. When the crowd gets wet, dis-as-ter!

August 5, 2021 at 20:03 #1553501I never understand the argument that hunting is cruel; it is part of nature and has been since life evolved.
And to those who say that we, as humans, should be above that, I ask one simple question: why do we, if we are so superior, treat our fellow people so badly?
