    Seasider, 26 sand wins is the current record?
    That is some going.

    not saying he was prolific but was 2/2 on aw,but Romsdal(although running some decent races on turf)was in fact 0/11 on the green stuff

    La Estrella, a gelding despite that name which is Spanish for The Star, gained his 4th career AW win at the expense of a horse I owned, Salute. He gave Salute, a consistent and reliable performer at Wolverhampton, eight pounds and a four length beating in a 1m 6f claimer.

    After that race, his trainer was quoted as saying:

    “…. the five-year-old has a troublesome off-fore and retirement could be imminent, but if he remains sound he could go for a claimer on the sand at Deauville.

    From ‘imminent retirement’ to 22 more wins!!

    Viltash, I believe 26 remains the record for wins on the AW.
