Hardly a “big” race but given the turn-out, it looks as strong as the Irish 2000. It could just be the most significant 3yo mile race this season.

    From the Sportinglife:

    Betting Forecast:

10/3 Redact, 4/1 Saigon, 7/1 Stipulate, 7/1 Eastern Sun, 7/1 Top Offer, 8/1 Tales Of Grimm, 10/1 Kahruman, 10/1 Irish History, 14/1 Cogito, 25/1 Ocean Tempest

I hate passing on tips so don’t blame me if this gets beat..I am told Tales of Grimm apparently will win this so I suspect word will get out and he wont be 8/1. He was supposed to run in the Guineas but SMS decided he needed more time and better ground..he’s not going here to get beat

Top Offer is the horse who many thought would go close in the 2000 guineas. He got to be worth an ew bet at the above prices.

Where Ginger when you need him

Looks a good card at Sandown, fascinating to see how CH gets on a 4 after an ultimately disappointing 2011 and then there’s the battle between the two Godolphin horses in the 2 miler, where I’ve the suspicion that Ley Hunter could be a very good recruit. Back to SMS, he likes a winner or two at Sandown so will back his on Thursday.

It is to be hoped that one of the unexposed horses will win this. By choice I would like to see Top Offer win it because I hope and believe he is a group 1 horse. However I was very taken with Irish History when she won at Windsor and pitching her in to this is no small step, she gets the fillies allowance and she must have shown plenty at home to take her chance here. Trying to get a line on how Mr Stoute’s horses will run is like playing Russian Roulette with half the chambers loaded.

Imagine that the Sportinglife have changed their prices

    Their new forecast is

3/1 Top Offer, 9/2 Tales Of Grimm, 5/1 Redact, 7/1 Eastern Sun, 8/1 Saigon, 10/1 Stipulate, 10/1 Cogito, 10/1 Irish History, 12/1 Kahruman, 50/1 Ocean Tempest

The thought of 7/1 on Top Offer when he had been shorter than that for the Guineas at one point had an air of fantasy about it.

64% of bets matched are on Top Offer.
13% of bets matched are on Irish History.

Its still early but it looks like a one horse race, you either want to back him or lay him. There’s very little interest in the rest thus far.

Not Moore’s finest hour but I can see why they fancied Tales of Grimm, looks a surefire Ascot winner.

Agree that Tales of Grimm was very promising but not sure what they will target at RA. Doesnt look good enough to win the St James.

Top Offer was a bitter disappointment.

Stipulate ran a stormer under a penalty. I think the 10f Hampton Court could be for him.

Winner didnt look too bad either and he goes for the St James next. A good race and plenty of winners will come from it.

Considering they make Top Offer a 3/1 shot for the SJP  I doubt he’ll have much to beat if he does go for it but apparently a step up to 10 furlongs is more likely
