Oh dear…….I’m going to say it anyway.
Henry Cecil doesn’t react like a man who is living the dream with the horse of a lifetime, does he?
I know he’s a toff, english gent etc but those of us who would like to see racing on the front page might want a bit more of obvious enjoyment out of him……..he’s being just a bit too cool about the whole thing for me….almost as if he’s not really enjoying it…..or certainly as much as he could.
He is even going as far as not trying to compare horses or discuss international classifications but it really doesn’t come across as much fun or good PR for the sport.
I’m not suggesting anything Paul Nicholls-esque and god forbid that we be subject to any of that Dettori style ‘me ,me ,me’ stuff but to me its another example of the sport lacking real personalities.
Respectfully, I am well aware of Cecil’s personal story from what we know of it down the years but that not withstanding he certainly used to be more fun when he was at the top first time around.
