Hi Everyone
After careful consideration we are going to attend the Shergar Cup at Ascot. Very reasonably priced and as AP said, a concert after racing that should keep us amused!
We are travelling down on the Friday so any recommendations on where to head for a drink or two on Friday and of course after the races on Saturday would be much appreciated. Thanks again for all your help and advice.

Far enough away from the racecourse to avoid coach parties, but still only about 15 mins drive, The Victoria Arms in Binfield has top class beer, a good sized bar and a garden.

Much appreciated AP. Booking accomodation has proved to be a nightmare and therefore the closest we could get is Bracknell. Any info?

Basically, Bracknell covers most of the area between that pub and Ascot. I’ve driven through, or round, Bracknell hundreds, if not thousands of times on my way to racing, but I’ve never stopped!
For accomodation, I’d even look at Reading – it’s only 15-20 minutes on the train from there to Ascot and about the same by road.
