    Monday continued.

I am not a great one for doubling up (stakes) having had my fingers burned too many times but the high strike rate of The VAMPIRE Plan has tempted me with an extra stake on both BRIANSTORM (11/10) & FRONTIERSMAN (6/4) ……………..

    Tuesday January 16

The final filter has decimated my selections this morning having already decided against Ayr where the going is HEAVY!

Because only two small priced selections have passed all the tests I have doubled the stakes to make a worthwhile return from a win double –

    CAROL’S VIGILANTE (1.25 Hereford) @ 4/9 …………………….. WON

    CORINTHIA KNIGHT (6.40 Kempton) @ 4/5 ………………………. WON

    Tuesday continued.

It paid to follow the money yesterday and so I hope it will again today with my old favourite bet of 2 singles and a half point double: –

    Kempton

    MAKAARIM (5.40) @ 13/8 …………………………….. LOST

    TASTE the SALT (7.10) @ 7/4 ………………………… Non runner

    Wednesday January 17

I am always amazed how fickle confidence is, yesterday my gut feeling it was “The” day for winners when it turned out very average. This morning I have sat and pondering how best to bet my selections and because of such indecision I have reverted to dropping the short odds-on ODE TO AUTUMN and keeping it simple with the remaining two as singles only.

    SAINT CALVADOS (2.25 Newbury) @ 11/8 …………………………… WON

    SPARE PARTS (3.20 Lingfield) @ 15/8 ……………………………. WON

A rare day today Nathan but we need such times now and again but of course I neglected to do the double.

With Wincanton ground described as HEAVY my selections today are very limited and I sometimes wonder if I impose too many filters but then remind myself they have been put in place for my own good. As I sit here and listen to the howling wind I think perhaps there should not be any racing during such conditions anyway but hope for the sake of the horses and riders the weather has calmed by the time racing starts.

    PULSATING (Chelmsford 8.30) @ 11/8 ………………………….. LOST

Perhaps a bit later I will look at the early market movers with the hope of finding something more interesting.

    Thursday continued.

Three horses have caught my eye this morning but with my wariness regarding riders not having completed their apprenticeship I have decided to swerve two of them being: LUV U WHATEVER (2.55 Southwell) & POUR LAMOUR (9.00 Chelmsford). I hope they both go on and win but having previously seen my money disappear all to quickly into the bookies bank for what I have thought of as poor rides I am happy these days not to take the same risks.

SOMETHING LUCKY (3.30 Southwell) at 15/8 is attracting attention in the early market and as such is worth a little interest.

    ……………………………………WON 13/8

    Friday January 19

It is not difficult to contain my excitement today due to so few choices to run through my final filter process and I am pleased that so far this month I have kept faith with my New Year Resolution to remain more disciplined than I have in the past.

NATIVE APPEAL (3.40 Lingfield) ….. lost

    COMPLETION (5.45 Newcastle) @ 7/4 ……………………… WON

Due to the short price of NATIVE APPEAL, 4/9, I have ignored the single but have used the stake to double with COMPLETION…. LOST

One early market mover caught my eye JUMP FOR DOUGH (Muss. 3.30) but then I found it was being ridden by a 10lb claimer and so have let is pass.

    Saturday January 20

“Sticking to my guns” is yet another way to continue along my intended way but here comes the first change. I spent a while last evening checking through my results and was sorry to see I have been wasting my time with the Naps Table selections. I should not be surprised having been told many years past that I could go broke following such “picks”.

So, my version of The VAMPIRE Plan now remains the sole system and I think I have decided on the best way to stake, again, time will tell.

I will also continue to have fun with the Market Movers but can only hope to find them later in the morning.

    GAKKU (3.10 Lingfield) @ 11/10 ……………… LOST

    UN DE SCEAUX (3.35 Ascot) @ 4/9 …………….. WON

    SANTINI (4.05 Ascot) @ 5/6 …………………….Nr

    Early Market Mover

This idea came from Anthony Gibson’s book – Armchair Profits – however I do like to put my own spin on things rather than taking instructions verbatim. That said the suggestion is to visit the early market circa 9.30 am which I do.

This morning there are a few eye catchers and for one thing or another I have deleted 5 of the 6 which attracted me leaving just the one in the final race of the day.

    AUTHENTIC ART (Chelmsford 8.45) @ 6/5 ………………………. LOST

I know what you mean about using the Naps table, I have tried various ideas over the years without any lasting success.

I am still learning about HRB and experimenting with the best trainers at individual tracks on the day. This often means backing several horses in one race but I have had some big prices go in which I was not expecting. It probably won’t last!

    Purwell.

You will have to give us some tips when you think it really will last.

The Vampire Plan offers zero selections this morning.

    Early Market Mover(s)

The digital age continues to dumbfound me because I like to check the “movers” firstly via the oddschecker site but this morning the information was not available – or so I thought!
I went to the site via a different way (the same as I cannot get sound via Wm. Hill radio but if go via a different route and I get it) and there it was. Anyway I am happy to say I have the info I need.

    MASQUERADE BLING (2.25 Chelmsford) @ 7/4 ………………………….. LOST

I am trying something a little different with my staking and have doubled my stake following a losing day yesterday. This was intended ONLY for “Vampire” selections but once again forgot my own rules and made another age related error.

Saturday was not a good day, I made the mistake of including Navan and there were just too many bets foe comfort and I made a small loss, nothing shattering.
Today has been better, I have made a profit at Fontwell of 8 points and a whacking 48 points at Chelmsford thanks to Dubai Waves winning at 33/1.
Problem is that there is no cast iron logic to the way I am doing this and
I really think it is pure luck on days like this.

We all need a bit of luck Purwell and it sounds like you had a massive slice of it today – well done.

    Monday January 22

The VAMPIRE Plan is again devoid of selections.

I will look later in the morning for any market movers.
