SP really doesn`t matter to me so it`s not a bitch about costing me money,however:-
i`m convinced the SP doesn`t represent the market price anymore,in fact i would go as far as saying the SP lacks integrity ,the organisation responsible for returning the SP should be removed.
Moving on to a question:-
Did any of you observe the last show “HEAVEN KNOWS“?, am i losing the plot as my eyes where looking at 4/1?, how on earth could this horse be returned 100/30?
Was anyone at the track looking at the boards?
The retail business must be laughing its head off at such practice!
Thanks in advance for any observations
October 28, 2007 at 10:38 #121806Pretty sure the 4/1 was the ‘industry show’, (off-course bookies) which is taken from a different place to the 10/3 SP (on-course bookies).
Turf TV disputes and all that……
October 28, 2007 at 14:12 #121859There would appear to be some fairly wide discrepancies, then, between the on-course price and the industry show. I was at Doncaster yesterday which has a Ladbrokes betting shop and for several minutes before the Horris Hill C4 were giving out Stimulation’s price as 5/1 while his price on Ladbrokes’ screens was 4/1. He did in fact go out to 9/2 seconds before the off. I presume the 5/1 was the price on course.
October 28, 2007 at 18:02 #121923But i was looking at the show price on both ATR and that provided by SIS, surely they are not showing industry prices and returning SP (Same system)………im overseas and haven`t noticed anything differant outside of the odd one that was clipped, from my info base i often see SIS state SP as last show and that`s the return !
Followed it today and didnt notice any discrepency thus it doesnt make sense, still convinced they where taking the biscuit or the 2000-500 reported had an incredible effect!!
October 28, 2007 at 18:59 #121944That is precisely what is happening, Tony – the "show prices" you will have seen from Newbury will have been industry shows and the SP returned comes from the oncourse market.
