HATTON’S REPEAT AN OPTION FOR CATCH MEEdward O’Grady is considering switching Catch Me back to the smaller obstacles for the Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday week.
The seven-year-old, winner of the race 12 months ago, has been campaigned over fences so far this season, making a winning introduction at Cork before failing to complete in a Listed event at Navan.
O’Grady now needs to decide whether to let his charge have another go over the larger obstacles in the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase, or go back over timber in the Grade One hurdle he won twelve months ago when beating Brave Inca.
"He’s fine and we will certainly have to look at the Hatton’s Grace," said the County Tipperary handler.
"He’s in the Drinmore as well but he did win the Hatton’s Grace very well last year. We’ll just have to see.
"We also have Osana entered in the Drinmore, but I don’t think he’ll run."

I thought Aitmatov looked back to something approaching his best last time out and I’d take him to beat Catch Me if he runs.
November 24, 2009 at 18:48 #260333Poor Poor race…..Catch me being brought back from the fences to this says something. Not sure who will win but i assume that Catch me will follow up last year’s victory.
Would like to see a good run from 90th Minute
November 24, 2009 at 19:02 #260338You don’t happen to know why Noble Prince isn’t entered Wallace?
I had high hopes for him myself but he was disappointing in the Lismullen. Was hoping something came to light after that run. I think he’s a lot better than he showed there.
November 24, 2009 at 19:06 #260341Who knows….intersting that Cawley was jocked off Moskova after that Sunday race in favour of Ruby. Personally i would blame the jockey for that defeat. Maybe something came up but that would only sugercoat that poor ride
November 25, 2009 at 00:34 #260396If Catch Me runs then Ladbrokes 3/1 is huge- I make him practically unbeatable on soft ground at this trip.
November 25, 2009 at 01:06 #260397Rocket science, it aint, but Muirhead’s going the right way and shaped well enough last time. He gets my vote.

Thanks Carv.
I hadn’t looked at the race until I saw your post, but now I have I’m tempted into a rare foray into the a.p. market.
Imo, of the only real dangers Aitmatov needs better ground (none of his heavy ground form would be good enough to win this)and Muirhead’s best at shorter (Always runs well fresh, but was thrashed by Catch Me on his last attempt over 2.5m, and trainer & jockey both have reservations about this trip).
Any doubts about CM’s hurdling technique should be ameliorated by the ground, and he looks an assured runner having been taken out of the Drinsmore, so 3/1 might look like finding money in the street, come the weekend.
November 25, 2009 at 13:42 #260430I have it from a good source today that he does run, so fill yer boots Reet!
November 25, 2009 at 15:27 #260441Just took the 3’s about Catch Me for the Hattons Grace. With regard to Noble Prince not being enterred, Nolan said after his run at Navan that he needs a break between his races so he won’t run again till Christmas.

His last performance wasn’t.

(Grade 1) €55,250.00 ( 2m 4f – 4yo+ )1 Aitmatov (GER)(150) (NMeade) – BJGeraghty(B)(T) 11,10

3 Hardy Eustace(154) (DTHughes) – PWFlood 11,10
4 Healys Bar(135) (OMcKiernan) – DNRussell(B) 11,10
5 Ninetieth Minute(147) (TJTaaffe) – 11,10
6 Oscar Dan Dan(144) (TMullins) – 11,10
7 Shakervilz (FR)(145) (WPMullins) – RWalsh 11,10Pleased I took the 8/1 about Aitmatov earlier on in the week. Catch Me is the one to beat but it can be hard for a horse to switch back into Grade 1 company over hurdles after being chasing. He had a bad experience at Navan last time out and it might just have left its mark on him. Wouldn’t write Hardy off. He must be showing Dessie something at home if they’ve kept him in training.
November 27, 2009 at 13:08 #260764Pick of the revised prices has to be Oscar Dan Dan at Power’s 10-1. I thought he’d have held on to beat Aitmatov the last day- at the very least it would have been close. The way he was lugging he may well be better right-handed (all his wins are that way) and I couldn’t have such a big discrepancy between their prices. For those of us holding 3/1 Catch Me vouchers
he’s well worth a saver.November 28, 2009 at 11:44 #260925Hardy Eustace has won on his seasonal return to this code for the past four years.
He must be showing connections something and I’m taking him to win this at twelve years young.
Fairyhouse will go bonkers if he’s victorious!
