    SOUTHERN FRANCE 6/1

By the sound of it be going here while i see him more a stayer it could be have more speed ran well last time to lose to Ascot gold cup winner. If watch st leger again he travel really well but not pick up but just stayed on again. So maybe drop back in trip be right thing for him.Feel Crystal Ocean go to Prince of Wales instead

Any idea if kew gardens is an intended runner?

Would be interested in him if so

Though I think crystal ocean will come here not the prince of Wales

Think stoute will repeat last years plan and use this as a platform for a big run in the king George

Kew Gardens a sea of blue on Oddschecker today, so presume so.

Can’t see past Crystal Ocean, surely? Nice King George prep!

I would have Kew Gardens for this as well, I didn’t see too much wrong with his run at Epsom.

I’ve had a go at the KG 8/1 also.

He doesn’t like Epsom so for him to run so well and get chinned on the wrong part of the track is a great sign and he looks like a sort that will continue to improve as he goes on, which AOB does incredibly well with some of these beasts.

I’d be all over Crystal Ocean if he comes here, would be a decent race against KG

Ghaiyyath has a few entries at Ascot, but I think from his Prix Ganay run
he would benefit from the extra couple of furlongs. He didn’t manage initially to get the lead
he wanted, but took it up after a couple of furlongs and kicked for home later only to be reeled
in in the last furlong. He wasn’t stopping, and kept on well which gives me the impression he
will head here rather than the 10f of the Prince Of Wales Stakes or the Coral-Eclipse. 8/1 is
the best on offer and I doubt he will be any better than half those odds come the day.

Kew gardens now going for the gold cup according to the obrein stable tour

Slightly baffling cant see him staying that far and this looks a much easier race to win

Aye scratching my head at AOB stepping up KG another mile in trip myself when he looked to have more than adequate pace in the Coronation for this.

    Sorry lads, but…
Coolmore may have a lot of horses entered up in the Cup. True, if turning up on Thursday over the staying trip then value-wise I’d be interested in Southern France and/or Flag Of Honour. However, although Gold Cup odds may not be value, Kew Gardens would have quite a bit better chance than that pair. Why run your best Group 1 Gold Cup horse in the Group 2 Hardwicke? KG looks to have found his level at 1m4f, but is still reasonably unexposed (might improve a little further) at staying distances. His 1m4f form may well be good enough to win here, but a Group 2 won’t exactly add to his CV. Coolmore probably know Kew Gardens doesn’t really have the speed needed to be an attractive proposition for flat breeders; where as Gold Cup victory gives him a leg up with jumps breeders. Unless taking him to Germany the Coronation Cup was by far Kew Gardens’ best chance of a Group 1 mile and a half (especially with Lah Ti Dar disappointing). Team Coolmore know he just isn’t up to a King George or Arc. Therefore, personally I see no point keeping him to a Group 2 mile and a half. :rose:
