This is more like it.
Beforehand, I thought Harchibald should have been odds on given the improvement over the past 12 months and that the distance would have suited him more so than Solerina. That and Solerina’s last run over hurdles was a complete shocker compared to Harchibalds latest.
Credit to Solerina (the assumed winner minus the 46 grand prize money) who should win more than her fair share of conditions hurdles.
Nonetheless, a very pleasing effort from an unfit Harchibald who will take all the beating in all the top races over 2 miles this season.
As for stepping him up in trip, I can’t see it working for him. Harchibald is a pure speed horse and though there is little evidence to be gathered from his pedigree, I would imagine that he would just about manage to get 2 and a half miles by the skin of his teeth. That’s being generous and taking the fact that he has Quest For Fame for a grandad. He’d be pulled up over 3 miles.
Also, it is commomly accepted that Harchibald is in the top two of the two mile hurdlers out there. Why risk that on the off chance that he could be a stayers hurdle candidate?
(taking into account the three exclamation marks after your comment aston, I’m assuming you’re being a little tongue in cheek – therefore, above comments apply only to those who seriously think Harchi should be stepped up)

Harchibald is a complete pig of a horse, but there are still ways of getting little sh!ts like him to win against the very best.
What about blinkers or just getting Nina Carberrys less famous brother to ride the bugger as far away from the other horses as possible? That way, he won’t be able to make a concious effort in throwing the race away.
