Happy Valley

Myself and my present wife will be in Hong Kong next month and would like to take in the night meeting on Weds 25th at Happy Valley.<br>Presumably one can just turn up as it’s an ordinary card, any advice on which enclosure to go into, best way to get there from central HK island etc?

If you are staying in the city, get a taxi….they are very cheap and good

I went in the main enclosure and it was excellent. Costs virtually nothing. Not overcrowded and you can turn up there and then

Also, as an aside, the food on offer is excellent and cheap. Pork kebabs in black pepper sauce superb!

Its a good evening. You will certainly enjoy it :)

to avoid the gridlock on the way out, the nearest MTR is Causeway Bay, Exit A.

check the  Overseas Visitor section –  there are special deals into Members if you flash your passport with an entry stamp within the previous 21 days, but the Public enclosure is the more atmospheric.

to combine a Members badge with getting a lift from/back to  your hotel and a pre-arranged buffet dinner in one of the boxes, you can sign up for the Come Horseracing tour and meet other expats  –   but still be ready to ditch the return coach and walk to Causeway Bay MTR – or even on to the restaurants in Times Square – at the end of the evening.

Hardly- only tied the knot in July, just a figure of speech my old Latin master used to use…. bit puerile really I s’pose.<br>Thanks for the replies and PMs- looking forward to it.
