I doubt I’d be looking for a bet in this, certainly not beforehand, should there be a market.
I’ll just be hoping to see a rejuvenated Waiting Patiently here.
Charbel and Janika look interesting as well, but possibly a race just to enjoy for me this time around.
November 4, 2019 at 17:15 #1473972On the strength of Nicholls’ comments I will go with Dolos at 9/2 with Paddy Power.
November 4, 2019 at 17:22 #1473975WP misses it with a bad scope
November 4, 2019 at 18:01 #1473980Definitely no bet for me, but Janika looks my idea of the winner.
November 4, 2019 at 18:47 #1473987Id say JANIKA aswell those battles with SIRUH DU LAC looks good strong form to me. Regarding LALOR, You just never know whats going to show up, He’s either gonna be S**t..or well s**t.
November 4, 2019 at 18:47 #1473988No outstanding candidate so it is a no bet race for me. If pushed to make a selection, I wonder if it might be worth taking a chance on Lalor first time up? He won his novice impressively this time last year. He disappointed afterwards (especially at Aintree) and clearly has questions to answer but he could be overpriced if over his problems.
November 4, 2019 at 19:57 #1473995That’s exactly what iv done Cork All Star
Not a big bet but just think it might be the time to catch him 11/2 against these just seems worth a go given how good he looked that day
November 4, 2019 at 22:15 #1474027Gods Own at 13/2 for me here. Won here two times before and showed a few months ago at Sandown that he can still compete at the highest level. It will be a difficult task at this mark, but it is nice price to find out.
November 5, 2019 at 00:28 #1474038Won’t be betting on it but an interesting race. Janika is on a high enough mark, tends to strip fitter and probably wants further. God’s Own has won this twice and doesn’t seem to have regressed just yet but sole win on soft in eleven starts came in a novice hurdle back in 2012. Charbel is on a workable mark and can perform over two miles but his main target is the Peterborough which will suit him better. Destrier goes well fresh, could get an easy lead and is still unexposed. Not convinced by his Aintree form and the Ayr race didn’t work out but the Southwell race is white hot so while his mark is stiff, it could be within his remit. Lalor is well handicapped on his best form although that form does come on left handed tracks. Dolos is on a career high mark which could be reasonable based on his Sandown win though maybe less so on his Kempton win. Was chasing down a strong pace at Sandown which he is unlikely to get here.
On balance, Destrier should probably be favourite but nothing can be confidently ruled out.
November 5, 2019 at 10:43 #1474058Big soft spot for this race. Charbel has become quite disappointing, but a drop back in trip on a reduced mark could see him to good effect.
November 5, 2019 at 11:51 #1474063Agreed with all bachelors points although I’m a bit more convinced about Destrier’s form so I’ll have a dabble.
November 5, 2019 at 12:24 #1474066Lalor for me.
I think Janika would have won at least one of those races last season if ridden by a better jockey; Jacob beaten too often in a finish
November 5, 2019 at 12:47 #1474068Righto, between us we have tipped the winner hurrah
(Unless it get voided)November 5, 2019 at 13:06 #1474069Haha a guaranteed winner amongst us. What a lovely feeling!
November 5, 2019 at 14:00 #1474072One of my favourite races in the calendar, no bet for me but will be cheering on old Gods Own!
November 5, 2019 at 14:23 #1474075WD Ray, thought Dolos might get up but your boy was fit enough, fast enough and jumped well
November 6, 2019 at 11:20 #1474198Just seen the race, well done Ray, Janika is a very tidy jumper, one to keep on side of.
