I think Moroder has a decent prize in him before the season out, while there has to be chance, given the manner of his Skybet win, that Coopers Cross has a few pounds up his cuff.

Fiveaftermidnight is a horse who’s had a few entries over here lately, and I’ll definitely bet her if she traps.

She’ll stop me having an Antepost on any of them, and I’ll work it out on Thursday after Final Decs, but definitely between this trio for me…………

I’d be very interested in Kim Baileys horse for this if he’s declared.

It’s a very ballsy move to leave a horse in who would be carting a dust cart of weight round and giving lumps away/keeping others out the handicap proper.

Top of the handicaps are usually my idea of the first to take on but on this occasion I’d very much be on side.

In terms of ability he’s head and shoulders above the rest.

Bob Tisdall carried 12st5lb to victory round Town Moor in the Great Yorkshire one year.

Doncaster is relatively well drained and I’ve always thought shouldering weight round there was a bit easier than at some of the perennial quagmires you find elsewhere.

Years ago Ian I would have agreed with you.

But most tracks run so often these days the course never gets a chance to repair itself and then after the first couple of races it’s cut up again and they’re all running on a ploughed field with horses looking like a herd of elephants.

You definitely have a point there, TC.

Back in the day, Doncaster had about six days Jump racing a season.

Same deal at various other tracks – especially ARC ones.

The state of chewed up, once beautiful, Fontwell Park with its AW bends, for example.

And tracks like Hexham and Fakenham which used to be a novelty when they raced having more fixtures than you can shake a stick at.

Fontwell has been ruined. Far too much racing and the ground never had time to recover.

I hope the same thing does not happen to Fakenham.

Undersupervision has been my fancy all week, and he’s still a sea of blue. I’ve missed all the good prices, so I’ve taken 6-1. It grates a little as these types rarely oblige, but I might as well bet him now

Opted for Moroder here, for all he probably needs another drop in the weights

Windsor Avenue isn’t the most trustworthy, but he’s a big enough price, is off a winnable mark, and has conditions to suit. He wasn’t beaten out of sight by L’Homme Presse at Newcastle, which reads pretty well to me.

I’ll join you with Windsor Avenue Peter. Fragile and very variable but the talent is there and today might be the day.

I’ve split my stakes here with Undersupervision and Sporting John.

It’s not a race that I’m getting stuck into it, but they appear to be the fairest price. The favourite won well last time admittedly but I don’t think that I would trust him to back that up

The favourite for me here. Coopers Cross only raised a few pounds for his win in the SkyBet Chase here a few weeks ago. That turned out good form with Cap du Nord winning next time.

    Coopers Cross 7/4

Bobby, did you get a crystal ball at the start of the season or something?
