Exotic Dancer might get his revenge on soft ground but you can’t take anything away from the winner.

Looking forward to compiling my ratings for this race can’t wait to see what mark I get the front two at. Turpin Green, what a race that run too.

Easily the highlight of an otherwise average festival.

Sometimes I wonder why I’ve been a racing fan for so long. I’ve often thought that there are better ways to spend your precious time. Then, I sit down and watch a performance like this and all the doubts fly away. What a magnificent horse…….what a wonderful sport!

You can tell you’ve seen greatness when you’re not bothered by losing your dough lol.

Excellent to see a true champion.

My pocket tells me that with a clearer run Exotic Dancer would have made him work harder but in truth Kauto looked good.

Agree with Flash that even given I lost cash and backed Best Mate each time that was the most enjoyable for a while.

Huge credit to connections for campaigning him so bravely.

Great to see Turpin Green back as well just wish I’d had the courage to stand by him.

    What a season. 4 Grade 1s and 2 Grade 2s, from 2m to 2m4f to 3m and now 3m2f+.

    Monster.

Absolutely brilliant. What a superstar. Let’s hope Kauto Star, Denman, My Way De Solzen and Exotic Dancer stay free from injury over the next 2-3 years.

Pat don’t forget horses like War Of Attrition, Kicking King, Trabolgan and Star De Mohaison – if they all make it to next years Gold Cup it would be something else.

Fair play to the winner – clearly a desperately good horse and all went to plan for them.

Exotic Dancer wasn’t helped by the loose horse on at least a couple of occasions in the last half mile but, although he may have made the winner work a bit harder, I doubt very much that it made the difference.
Couldn’t disagree more. It was a sensible gallop they didn’t gomad and the ground wasn’t testing thats why horses were prominant. As soon as they upped the pace the cream came well and truely to the top.

That 3.1 handicap you gave Exotic Dancer in the competition section was bang on Corm!

Have already rated the race (couldn’t wait lol). Got Kauto Star to 176 and Exotic Dancer to 173 which means they would’ve both won last years Gold Cup too.

The marks are lower than I expected actually possibly because the race wasn’t run at a blistering pace, more a sensible gallop.

Tells me that Kauto Star is probably a better horse at three miles whilst Exotic Dancer has run right to form as has L’Ami, Monkerhostin equalling his best, Turpin Green a best performance, State Of Play to his Hennessy running and The Listener and Beef Or Salmon ran well below form as did My Will.

For what little its worth Flash I am keeping them at the pre race ratings of 177+ and 174.

I am now wondering on reflection is 5/1 value (well 7/1 when i backed ED) when it had 3lb to find?
I think only you can answer a question like that mate. For what its worth I don’t regret backing Exotic Dancer. In a lot of years he’d have won the Gold Cup.

Spare a thought for me, three bets at the festival, three seconds, three hampered horses. Not my week lol. To be fair though only Our Vic I think was an unlucky loser.
