Very dodgy race to have an Antepost on, as so many of them have entries in The Becher….

One who holds entry for both is previous winne As De Mee. Still a lot higher than for his win in this three years ago, and off the back of a long layoff. He did however, shape very well on comeback yesterday, and although I’ve a feeling they’ll go Becher, with a view to testing his stamina for The National, I think he’s a mad price at 50’s.
There’s about another dozen I like for this, and no point dwelling in them just now, with all those other engagements, but I’ll also be keeping a close eye on Gwencily Berbas today.
As De Mee 50’s EW
November 20, 2019 at 17:41 #1475407Ultragold is naturally of interest, especially now Tizzard is just starting to pick up a bit of steam.
Anything Nichols sends will be kept an eye on as well. He has a stunning record in this in recent years and obviously knows the right type.
November 20, 2019 at 19:47 #1475415Ultragold always of interest Peter, just a question of either this or The Topham being the big plan.
November 21, 2019 at 13:25 #1475447A horse I really liked a couple of years back was What A Moment, but his comeback from injury a fortnight ago was disappointing.
If I seen any signs of encouragement tomorrow at Ascot, then I might be interested at the 50’s here, especially as he isn’t in The Becher.
December 1, 2019 at 16:59 #1476331Captain Redbeard reportedly out for season, just in case anyone was considering him before the five day decs.
December 2, 2019 at 01:17 #1476360Still looking here for a bit another one to go with As De Mee, if he does actually go.
I’m really coming round to Gold Present, and I think he could go here. That 14’s looks big.
Gwencily Berbas still high on the list, and the relatively unknown It’s Jennifer, is also catching the eye.
December 2, 2019 at 22:07 #1476412As De Mee doesn’t go then, but the price always hinted at a no show.
Not too impressed at missing that 14’s on Gold Present, he’s best priced 6’s now.
I’ll almost certainly add Gwencily Berbas, but at 25’s, I’m as well waiting until Final Decs.
December 2, 2019 at 22:57 #1476415I think Touch Kick could run well in the Sefton.
December 3, 2019 at 11:52 #1476436It’s definitely Gold Present for me in this, but I will wait till the final field is known.
I also like Didero Valis and Federici, but I will wait for them as well.
December 3, 2019 at 13:45 #1476444Gold Present is a stand-out for me in this, took some 6/1 last night.
December 4, 2019 at 15:30 #1476524I’m with you lads, Gold Present is the one for me here, but I will also have a smaller bet on Killaro Boy.
December 5, 2019 at 12:11 #1476579I suspect this is going to cut up considerably. Ultragold will always carry my money, especially when tackling this course and distance. He’s a star and will give his usual good showing.
Paul Nichols has too good a record in this to ignore, so Touch Kick has to go on the shortlist.
Federici has become a bit of a old favourite in these Becher meetings. He’s a big price for a reason, but he’s shown he likes the challenge and looks a fair each way play.
December 6, 2019 at 12:16 #1476636I don’t have a strong opinion in this, but at the prices I’ve gone Kayf Adventure 14-1 ew 4 places.
Lost 2 front shoes on his seasonal debut which wouldn’t have helped so may still be well treated if he takes to the course for the Hobbs/Johnson combo.
December 6, 2019 at 17:52 #1476659Kicking myself for not taking that 14’s on Gold Present, so I’ll just stick with Gwencily Berbas here.
Buckers, Killaro Boy an old favourite, I’m seriously considering him myself.
Gwencily Berbas 25’s EW 4 Places
December 6, 2019 at 19:33 #1476675DIDERO VALLIS for me at 10/1 four places!!
Ran really well at Cheltenham this year and has had a pep run for this.
I couldn’t resist a few pennies each way on BEAU BAY at 50/1 as he had a trot round in the Topham in the spring and that might have been to let him have a look at these fences.
December 7, 2019 at 10:42 #1476730It might be on the short side, but I’m willing to give course specialist Federici a chance here.
Federici 14/1 EW
December 7, 2019 at 12:09 #1476758I’m with Touch Kick as well, I really like him and he’s targeted and probably tuned up for this.
