March 30, 2010 at 17:01 #286530Aintree has rain for the next 4 days… g/f… you sure?
March 30, 2010 at 17:03 #286531yeah will dry quick, looking at fast ground imo
March 30, 2010 at 18:35 #286566Good to soft I reckon
March 30, 2010 at 18:45 #286570Looks like heavy if you believe this:

I’d hold off having a bet until Thursday at the earliest.

That’s Thursday the 8th.

Been 9 years since our last heavy national… used to have them every 3/4 years…
March 30, 2010 at 19:17 #286576Earth Summit carried 10st 5lbs and poor Suny Bay 12stone. 3rd – 6th all carried 10stone.
That was 1988 going soft, heavy in places. Unlikely ever to be heavy at Aintree.
March 30, 2010 at 19:32 #286578Latest weather model projections indicate fairly wet weather up to and including this weekend, with a warmer, drier couple of days following, but by mid-next week a return to cooler, showery weather, with longer spells of rain in between. But by National day drier again.
A long way off in weather terms, but seems to indicate a mixture of dry and wetter weather. On that basis i’d predict similar ground conditions to whatever course officials are calling today.
aside from early bets (and i’ve had a few) if you’re worried about the ground and what certain horses will do on it, wait until the Friday eve or the actual morning of the National.March 30, 2010 at 19:37 #286580Has AP actually been confirmed to ride Can’t Buy Time? Would’ve thought Don’t Push It would be the likelier option, seems to have been campaigned well for this.
March 30, 2010 at 20:01 #286583not sure if already been mentioned but air force one, to miss both grand national and irish, in favour for betfred gold cup
March 30, 2010 at 20:05 #286584its been reported that AP will either ride can’t buy time or don’t push it, and nothing is set in stone yet

Yeah just read it on the RacingUK site. Bit disappointing as i was hoping for him to have gotten in last year, but again he git withdrawn…
March 30, 2010 at 20:07 #286587Does anyone think Conna Castle is a good EW bet at 100/1?
So far I have Arbor Supreme EW at 20/1s, Snowy Morning EW at 22/1, Whinstone Boy EW at 33/1 and two winners chosen – Comply or Die and Vic Venturi.
March 30, 2010 at 20:27 #286592Has anything been said about Madison De Berlais participation?
Could Notre Pere run if it comes up soft?
Value Is EverythingMarch 30, 2010 at 21:13 #286597Are you the real Tommo, Tommo?

All we’ve heard from Pipe is that they are unsure whether to go for the national or the race he won last year on the Thursday…
I reckon Notre Pere’s running regardless of the ground. It’s been his target pretty much all season…
