Companero, Cornish Sett and Roll Along also not entered.
I seem to have £140 on dead ‘uns, but that includes Drumconvis and Russian Trigger who ARE dead ‘uns. An improvement on last year, when I had £170 on horses not entered, which was half my portfolio.
Edit: that total is wrong, as it doesn’t include Golden Flight and Miko. Betfair still seem to be re-organising.
Just noticed that Gungadu isn’t an entry.
February 3, 2010 at 14:58 #273778edited to avoid confusion as couldn’t be sure list was correct.
February 3, 2010 at 15:04 #273781Entries down to a rating of 134 (the Irish horses are shown with Irish ratings. List does not include Louping d’ainay as I don’t know his rating.

February 3, 2010 at 15:15 #273783Louping D’Ainay would be off around 151 David – at least he would be judged on his French rating.
February 3, 2010 at 15:38 #273786Yes, I know Grey Desire, I was just including them as I had had bets on them prior to their demise.
Here are the other horses that I think would surprise different people by their absence:-
Brooklyn Brownie
Butlers Cabin
Dear Villez
Frankie Figg
Hoo La Baloo (Nicholls mentioned the National at the start of the season)
Operation Houdini
Southern Vic
Stan ("new" trainer not keen)
Toby Jug
Will Be DoneDavid has beaten me to the trigger with a list, so I won’t bother with mine!
February 3, 2010 at 15:41 #273788Erm, Monkerhostin is Shirley Shum Mishtake?
The surprise entry to me is Ellerslie George, who is supposedly going for the Irish National.
February 3, 2010 at 15:51 #273789No Garde Champetre?
February 3, 2010 at 16:22 #273800Ouch, you’re just rubbing it into my wounds.

Twelve 7 yos! Including Palypso De Creek, Le Beau Bai, Tricky Trickster, Possol and Pomme Tiepy. Time ripe for our preconceptions to be blown apart, if this one will be.
February 3, 2010 at 16:37 #273805yes sorry, Monkerhostin is not entered.
Don’t let me put anyone off producing a complete list…mine was done hastily, only goes down to OR 134 & as Gerald has spotted is not bombproof!!!
February 3, 2010 at 17:25 #273810Disappointed not to see Companero, Keenans Future or Snoopy Loopy get entries.
February 3, 2010 at 18:16 #273815Air Force One has been dropped to the same mark (153) as when 2nd in the Hennessy.
All aboard
February 3, 2010 at 20:32 #273839Fences only get smaller because of all the titchy horses jumping through them and not over them……
February 3, 2010 at 21:10 #273849Not sure if I’m disappointed or pleased with this year’s entries. Given the prize money on offer I am definitely the former in terms of the numbers.
The dark horse in the entries, for me, is the Waley-Cohen Roulez Cool. I had my eye on this one for the race next year but never imagined he’d receive an entry for 2010. If he was a year older I would actually fancy him a lot more than I do now but his dam was a decent animal for the same owner.
Alan King has only one entry (AGAIN) and you have to wonder why anyone would send a staying chaser to his yard. Even if Halcon didn’t get an entry I thought at least Nenuphar warranted one.
I guess I am pleased aswell because there are quite a number this time around that can be disregarded from the outset in terms of both ability and pedigree. At least there should be a shortlist as opposed to the longlists of the last couple of years.
Glad to see Kilcrea Castle in there though as old Gerald and I can retire if he comes up trumps and was loving the way he jumped on his reappearance at Ascot. That will have shaken off the cobwebs.
February 4, 2010 at 04:48 #273870Not retire, but can one do the 3rd year of one’s degree, 5 years after the 2nd year?
February 4, 2010 at 15:54 #273939ive got one horse on antepost and thats because i dreamt it would win this years national over 3months back, strange i know but you never know
February 4, 2010 at 16:15 #273944Who is it VF?
