There was a time when you wouldn’t consider a novice for a race like this, but times change.
Progressive easy winner at Doncaster and the one horse apart from Bravemansgame Paul Nicholls was most keen to talk about when interviewed at Charlton Horethorne Point on Sunday.
Still 14/1 NRNB in a place.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 8, 2022 at 22:41 #1586204I’m with Buddy Rich 11-1 for this. The 6 pound rise in the UK not ideal.
March 8, 2022 at 23:28 #1586206I liked coeur sublime for this for a while, but just seen his mark, 151 has to be a joke lol, wont be touching him now, hed be good enough to win the arkle if he can overcome that
Embittered @10/1 is likely where ill be
March 11, 2022 at 07:57 #1586464Anyone know what’s happened with Ciel De neige?
He was entered up in the arkle, this and another handicap but seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth??
March 11, 2022 at 10:56 #1586469Gumball & Poseiden here for me at big prices. Kevin Blake put me off Embittered
March 14, 2022 at 21:39 #1587074Absolutely my worst race of the whole year this. Think it’s one horse placed in it in the last twenty years, and even then he was Win Only
Two minds to sit it out, but I’ll persevere, though it doesn’t look any easier than any other year.
Had a shortlist of seven, and six of them declared, which wasn’t what I wanted.
First one to go was For Pleasure. Think the race will suit him though. Next off the list is Poseidon. Not much recently to recommend him, but he’s better than he’s shown, and I’d give him a real
Chance here.Last one out is Andy Dufresne. Been waiting him out, and he finally appears, and I don’t bet him. Loved him that day he won at Navan, and I’m sure he’ll be a regular of mine after this.
Settled to split my stake three ways…..
Before Midnight – Long term fancy on his win here earlier in the season, and I think he’s rock solid
Editeur Du Gite – Gutted he missed Newbury, and I think he’ll take in Champion Chase next year. Was very keen on him for Celebration Chase before late withdrawal. Very much like Before Midnight, think his style of running will be an advantage
Gumball – Harder to make a case for, but mark is ok, for all heart is still ruling the head. Just couldn’t desert him here. A real old favourite.
All three to win, no EW’s in this, and this the trio to avoid…..
Before Midnight 16’s
Editeur Du Gite 16’s
GumballMarch 15, 2022 at 21:10 #1587394174 Buddy Rich
164 Before Midnight
162 Frero Banbou
161 Sky Pirate
159 Andy Dufresne
159 Exit Poll
159 GumballBuddy Rich is consistent and looks very well treated so is a strong fancy. Before Midnight is progressive and has run some very decent races this season and difficult to pass by as another looking well treated.
March 16, 2022 at 01:00 #1587422I’ll go for Thyme White. Handicapped to beat Amarillo Sky, this improving horse will have the assistance of Bryony Frost.
12/1 ew 6 places with Paddypower
March 16, 2022 at 11:37 #1587497Gone off Buddy Rich coz of the forecast rain so thrown a dart at Amarillo Sky ew 6 places.
March 16, 2022 at 12:20 #1587511I’ve backed Buddy Rich, Il Ridoto and Embittered for this. Embittered probably my 1st choice, like the angle of horses who were well fancied last year returning to make ammends.
March 16, 2022 at 16:40 #1587735Frero Banbou my main bet, Venetia’s horses running well here. Also added Il Ridoto and A Wave of The Sea.
March 16, 2022 at 16:47 #1587743I’ll try Exit Poll- not sure about the ground, but I’ve had my eye on him since he started chasing.
