Is the Labaik video about the horse’s death?
tbh The cattle prod thing is probably when the horse was alive and well, ie using it on the gallops at a sort of start rehearsal. Getting the horse associating pain when not agreeing to start as the tapes go up… In theory making Labaik more likely to start in the race itself.Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2021 at 20:06 #1526697But Ginge, he refused again after winning the Supreme. He ran twice at Punchestown in the space of four days. Once refusing with Jack Kennedy aboard and then finishing fourth in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle under Davy Russell…. Don’t really think that the cattle prod worked that much for him.
March 2, 2021 at 20:10 #1526698Ginge – there’s no info to the supposed video other than it involves Labaik and a cattle prod. Still all just rumours though this twitter account is yet to back anything up.
March 2, 2021 at 20:10 #1526699What you said makes sense Ben and ham someone with an axe to grind who trusted in insiders maybe or now possibly someone who knew about mistreatment of horses by GE at the yard.
Dreadful if it is Labaik and then how many others over what period of time?
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 2, 2021 at 20:11 #1526700Two quick points.
Can we please stop the little englander nonsense in saying this is an Irish problem. Non horse racing folk will have no idea what nationality Elliot is and it is a horrific look for racing not just Irish racing.
Secondly the only reason sheik m isn’t banned is his money. Without it Newmarket would be decimated and huge job losses. What he has done in kidnapping his children is way worse that Elliot’s horrific picture yet not a peep from the bha. Elliot is expendable, the Dubai money not. Disgusting double standards.March 2, 2021 at 20:13 #1526702It wouldn’t need to work every time, Ruby.
Besides, once the pain did not come at Cheltenham the horse might have learnt it wasn’t going to be used on the racecourse. ie Not after walking around with a lot of other horses around him.
And/or:
Elliott would not have risked using the cattle prod too many times either. More it’s used the more likely to be caught. For Cheltenham he probably thought it was worth the risk. That’s the theory if and only if this is true.
Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2021 at 20:15 #1526703I think Elliott owned Labaik or had a dodgy partner in it or something. It all went pear shaped at some point and ended up in court, if i recall right.
March 2, 2021 at 20:19 #1526704You accuse others of “Little englander” and then follow it with an anti-english attack on Newmarket. What does that make you, Mickeyip?

March 2, 2021 at 20:23 #1526706Ok I’m not one for conspiracies, but was thinking if the cattle prod thing were true, then I reckon they’d have used a real cattle prod in the last couple of gallops before cheltenham with Labaik, then at Cheltenham used something that looked the same as the cattle prod in attempt to trigger the horses stress response without risking being caught using a cattle prod! Now for this to be the case, at Cheltenham in the Supreme you’d have to see someone behind the horse at the start of the race with any sort of item in their hand. I just watched the Supreme back and there are literally 3 guys chasing Labaik at the start of the race, one of whom was holding and waving stick/whip looking object at Labaik as they set off!
March 2, 2021 at 20:25 #1526707It’s not an anti English at all and your just illustrating my point. The public arent interested in Elliot’s nationality only how horrific it is. Sheik m has a massive stake in English and also the USA and Australia. The point I was making is Elliot was quickly banned but the sheikh not even discussed. Is that or is that not horrendous double standards. Nothing to do with nationality.
March 2, 2021 at 20:25 #1526708Ben, strange that Ian Bartlett mentioned him before the start and also after he jumped off. Sounded as if he was on him or had a huge interest in him jumping off. Honestly, I don’t that much if a 25/1 shot jumps off or not….
March 2, 2021 at 20:27 #1526709I tell you what Ben, i would not fancy having you hunting me down
March 2, 2021 at 20:28 #1526711Ruby – hahaha i thought that!! hoenstly thought he was 7/1 given Bartletts comments, was he really 25/1? he definitely had an ew bet!
March 2, 2021 at 20:29 #1526712botchy – i’ve recently started looking at the stock market, I’m hoping that could be more profitable than a career in private investigation lol
March 2, 2021 at 20:31 #1526714Sick to death of people prattling on about Godolphin in connection with this issue TBH.

March 2, 2021 at 20:34 #1526715Ben, do you have a video from the next race, the Arkle of 2017? Or from any races afterwards on Day 1. I’d like to know if the same two blokes who ran behind Labaik before the tapes went off, are also featured in the next races.
