This race is fantastic for the neutral imo- almost impossible to have a view on it from my perspective. As you say FF on the figures aidan’s is a huge danger, but what’s he beat?
On the other hand, you could say Aidan has some sort of idea of how good he needs to be through Kew Gardens.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 28, 2020 at 11:32 #1495326Tbh when I looked at the race yesterday I didn’t look to see how much weight santiago gets
I assumed it would be 7-9lbs
15lbs seems like an enormous amount of weight
If santiago stays this could be strads biggest test other than taking on vazirabad, Order of St George and kew gardens
July 28, 2020 at 12:23 #1495338A ‘one for the neutral’ race for me as well. Not a betting proposition in the field from my perspective. Will just enjoy the race unfold and see what happens.
July 28, 2020 at 12:25 #1495339I read an article I think from Pricewise a few years ago saying its strange why more trainers don’t target this race with their 3 year olds considering the huge WTA allowance. I believe this year is an extra 2 or 3 lbs also because of the timing (before August 1st).
Finafurlong91 you say Santiago should be fav on ratings – don’t you believe in any WFA to make it even? Or how many lbs? Normally 2 horses with same OR (one 3 years old one 5 years old) would theoretically have an even chance even with the WFA.
Watching only race for me but definitely interesting to see what happens/.
July 28, 2020 at 12:29 #1495340It’s a watching race for me as well, but I would like to see Santiago make it a good race.
July 28, 2020 at 13:31 #1495363I agree with the idea of watching this without a bet, but I’ve been tempted to take Nayef Road 20-1 ew
July 28, 2020 at 15:04 #1495380Santiago gone to 13-8. He’s the one for money.
July 28, 2020 at 15:08 #1495381Have had a small bet on nayef road w/o strad at 7.0
July 28, 2020 at 15:22 #1495386Good race that. Dettori not the best ride but horse got him out of trouble Good run from Nayef to hold off the 3 yr old.
July 28, 2020 at 15:23 #1495387Ff thats not how weight for age works, hes off that weight to be on his rating in open company, he isnt clear on ratings, the reason its so much is because the race is over 2 miles.
And yes its an extra 2lbs because its in july, so technically he was 2lb well in because 4 days wouldnt make a difference
Strad is officially 10lb clear regardless of the weight in open company
Cracker from nayef, santiago ran better than i thought, but that was his only chance to beat strad
July 28, 2020 at 15:27 #1495389Santiago was very keen throughout the race
Was always confident he wouldn’t find enough for pressure to get past nayef road who was given a much easier time in front than in the gold cup
July 28, 2020 at 15:27 #1495390I’d be cashing in any Leger tickets if I held them on Santiago ran a nice enough race but couldn’t even get past Nayef Road despite having every chance, would be very surprised if there wasn’t one better to emerge from the Gordon and Voltigeur. Stradivarius is just a star isn’t he I thought he was in a world of trouble today when the pace lifted but he’s got through the gap and won easy as you like.
July 28, 2020 at 15:28 #1495391Ham im not sure about that because the t.v. always talks about weight for age making a potential difference and trainers showing concerns about the advantage.
Then you come on here and rubbish it all.
July 28, 2020 at 15:31 #1495392The weight for age only makes a difference because many in racing – Timeform, Simon Rowlands etc feel the weight for age scale is too generous, there is no doubt Santiago is entitled to some weight for age but perhaps not that much
July 28, 2020 at 15:31 #1495393I am definitely not cashing in on my Santiago 12-1 Leger bet Tinman.
July 28, 2020 at 15:32 #1495394What a joy that was to watch. I thought for just a minute that he had been caught out but Frankie
doesn’t panic and won cosily. I backed Nayef at 22s, but it was on the nose. I wasn’t completely
mad as I did the straight f/c with Strad obviously winning. Bets aside, it was just a great race
to watch
July 28, 2020 at 15:33 #1495395Gosden just said for Strad to go to the Arc
