Come on Gord – what do you think now? Magnificent no? The greatest.
Zark – poor Zark. I sincerely wish you Bon Voyage mon ami! You will definitely come back older – lets hope you come back wiser too!

July 27, 2011 at 14:47 #366007Simply stunning. CC can have no excuses, Hughes was just were he would have wanted to be, CC has just never faced anything like Frankel….but has there ever been anything like Frankel.
Certainly the best miler I’ve seen. Problem will be finding competition for Frankel who’ll want to race him now?!

Ok, perhaps the milers aren’t that bad…
July 27, 2011 at 20:02 #366071Joni i bow down to you!
You have sung the praises of Frankel since last year and i admire that,i on the other hand have been proved wrong yet again,i took him on with Dream Ahead in the Dewhurst, Strong suit in the Greenham,Roderic O Connor in the Guineas,Dream Ahead in the St James Palace stakes and now Canford Cliffs today, all of the above are Group 1 horses and yet none could live with him,no doubt i will try again in the Juddmonte, stubborness is costing me dearly!Never mind there’s always tomorrow and i have got a horse as Prince Mono-******-lulu would say!
July 27, 2011 at 20:05 #3660722.00 Seaside Sizzler 1 Win, 1 Place
3.45 Tanfeeth 1.5 Win
Whiplash Willie 0.5 WinTotal on week -4 points
Well played Merigo,i thought Seaside Sizzler was going to run away with it at one point but at least Whiplash Willie held on gamely! Keep up the good work!
July 27, 2011 at 21:01 #366083Thanks KF, In the first tomorrow I can,t see beyond front three in market, but with the weight pull and how well Stoute runners have gone this week, I’m on Labarinto for 2.5 point win.
Total on week +0.3
Elsewhere, looking at Terdaad 4.05 Nottingham and Mr Ramsey 4.30 Stratford.
July 27, 2011 at 21:12 #366090My dark horse for this years Nunthorpe is
Masamah
and i have backed him at 25/1 for the race,he runs in a Group 3 tomorrow at Goodwood,a race he is more than capable of winning,i ought to get a price on him finishing 2nd as i’m getting severe seconditis but that will be cured with a winner,he’s an improving sort who is relatively lightly raced and digs deep when required.
Masamah
£400 win 11/2 Bet365,Audi Stakes Goodwood.

July 28, 2011 at 07:09 #366141Thanks Gord – horses like this don’t come along very often so my advice would be stop being stubborn and enjoy him! Sometimes it’s not about winning moneyis it?
Onwards and upwards – banker today is Wild Coco. Possible Leger horse.

July 28, 2011 at 08:00 #366153Morning all, Sorry Joni going to oppose you with Shankardeh at respective prices. The form of her group 2 last out has a more solid look to it than Coco’s and has been boosted by Danedream in a Group 1 since. Plus the Aga Khan breeding is a big positive(as proven in the Galtres Stakes at Ebor meeting).
3.45 Shankardeh 1 Win, 1 Place
4.55 Sinfonico 0.5 Win, 0.5 Place

Memory
decides to take part in tomorrows Oak Tree stakes she could win it on the bridle, everything is in her favour to win this, the trip, the draw, the course should be fine and if the ground continues to dry she will love it.I would confidently put a monkey on her as her 2yo form is a class apart but unfortunately she has made me look the monkey with her attitude,if the Hannons think they have straightened her out then that will do for me although i will only have a reasonable wager just in case she does it again,if i was a betting man i would say she is an odds on shot not to race unfortunately but i couldn’t stand her winning at 9/1 and me not staying loyal! Fingers crossed!

£4280July 28, 2011 at 21:35 #366264Memory came through a stalls test at Salisbury recently. Though I heard from a friend of one of the owners, they are no more than hopeful she’ll start tomorrow.

– you’ve got more courage than I have Kingy.Value Is EverythingJuly 28, 2011 at 21:53 #366270you’ve got more courage than I have Kingy.
You’ll see Courage on Saturday Ginge when i put up the Stewards Cup winner for the 3rd year in succession!
This Totesport mile is a race not worthy of the high esteem its held in as the draw can be crucial, the horse i like the look of isCai Shen
,he gave me a fright at Royal Ascot when my money was on Sagramor in the Britannia,he is reasonably drawn and has a couple of pounds pull for the half length he was beaten but at 14/1 he is overpriced for a horse who is very consistent and a place looks guaranteed at worst.

£4080July 29, 2011 at 07:47 #366317Morning KF, your some judge of sprinters, look forward to your Stewards Cup view( I’ve currently backed Kanaf at 33’s and looking for positive comments on Victoire)
4.50 Law of the Range 1 Win
profit on week 11.9 points
July 29, 2011 at 12:47 #366353Afternoon all, Although I’ve backed Kanaf at 33’s earlier in the week on terms of value, the 2 that meet the profile for the Stewards Cup(6 of last 8 winners + RU in other 2 races) are Edinburgh Knight and Victoire de Lyphar, I’ve backed both this morning but by far the biggest bet is on Victoire(450 Win and 150 E.W. at 16’s).
Although my view could be blown apart once the King of sprinters has spoken.July 29, 2011 at 21:48 #366436I’ve backed both this morning but by far the biggest bet is on Victoire(450 Win and 150 E.W. at 16’s).
Although my view could be blown apart once the King of sprinters has spoken.I like the tag Merigo,’King of Sprinters’eh? Well you will be pleased to know my idea of the winner of this years Stewards Cup is
Victoire de Lyphar
,he has been trained for this since missing the cut in last years race,he has had a couple of niggly problems including a mouth ulcer and has been on a course of antibiotics however these minor ailments have protected his mark and he gets in this with a fighting chance at the weights.I have said it before but this fellow has developed muscle on muscle and is a powerful 4yo,Hoof it,is the class horse in the race according to the ratings but Victoire has beaten him in the past and at the weights has the beating of him again,i have been backing Victoire for this race for over 3 months now but for obvious reasons have painted a hazy picture of the race a bit like the 09 renewal when Genki came out of the fog to beat Evens and Odds, who incidentally could easily run a place for the 3rd consecutive year.Dandy could have the first 4 home as Tajneed and Tax Free both catch my eye particularly the latter at 75’s on the machine. You wont be surprised to know that i have 3 good wagers on Victoire all at 20/1,that price has gone today and the 14/1 will go quicker than you can say ‘The King of sprinters has put up Victoire de Lyphar for the Stewards Cup’! Good Luck,if he can keep a lid on his attitude as he gets a bit fired up he has to be in the 4.Very rare i get nervous but i am this time!

Victoire de Lyphar
£200 e/w 20/1 Corals Stewards Cup.
£150 e/w Bet365 20/1

£3530July 30, 2011 at 07:18 #366485Morning all,
2.35 Captain John Nixon 1 point Win
3.45 Victoire de Lyphar 2 Win 1 Place
Edinburgh Knight 0.5 WinTotal profit on week 7.4 points
Reasonable weeks profit, regardless how today goes.
But Victory for Victoire would be sweet. - AuthorPosts
