Ginger
I have no real interest in your selections – while you are pricing up the goats, I’ve decided if there’s a bet and moved on.
The only reason I posted on his thread was because old mouthy was banging on about how well he understood trainers – yet hadn’t a clue what was happening with Workforce. Ironic that within 24 hours of my pointing out he was going for the Eclipse, ole mouthy’s money went down.
I’ll leave you to your mutual admiration society now, while both of you are slapping each others backs down here, there’s much less chance of the rest of the forum being polluted.
May 28, 2011 at 09:13 #357591reet hard, you know what i’m like,i have never been able to suffer fools and yet you are the only person on here who constantly slags me off and yet i dont mind,i always seem to forgive you and thats because in the past you were the brunt of a lot of my jokes, but you always lived up to your name and came back for more. What does seperate the likes of myself,Ginger, thm,Fist,Imperial Call,Carvills Hill and dare i say it ‘Dangerous Dave’ is that we all set ourselves up for a massive fall by trying to show the likes of you that racing can pay by running a tipping thread,Ok ‘Dangerous’ has let the side down AGAIN but at least he knows the difficulty involved. You should have a go yourself and then we’ll see if you really know your stuff. How about kicking off with
Fame and Glory
3/1 for the Ascot Gold Cup? 1/3 says you haven’t really got the bottle!
May 28, 2011 at 09:15 #357592Only ‘avin’ a larf Reet, you know we love you too.
I have my run-ins with Gord too, but we forget about it and move on. "Mutual" repect more than "admiration".As Gord says, I think we’d have more respect for your opinions if you lay yourself open to criticism with a tipping thread.
We all know Gord has a mouth on him, but in my opinion he’s made a real go keeping it zipped (as much as he can), since resurrection.
Thumbs Up.

Value Is EverythingMay 28, 2011 at 09:32 #357593So long as
Regal Parade
runs he wins,he ideally needs to get his toe in but Dandy wouldn’t risk this fellow on ground too quick,he’s an absolute beast in the flesh and as tough as teak, there’s no Delegator today either and 7f suits just fine.I still love to watch Trotter trying to steal a lead on Goldikova last year in France, for a second or 2 i thought he was going to do her.Anyway i’ve taken the 2/1 as he’s a Group 1 winner without a penalty in a Group 3,i just hope old reets not on!

Regal Parade
£225 win 2/1 Tote, John O Gaunt,Haydock.
£2300May 28, 2011 at 09:34 #3575945 of my notebook horses run tomorrow and another 2 on Sunday. Rio Grande, El Wasmi, Mountain Hiker, Western Aristocrat and Quadrant, as well as Crystal Capella who I really seriously fancy. Will work out what to do tomorrow morning, other than singles and a double on Rio Grande and Crystal Capella.
Good luck with those Zarkava,i do like the look of
Crystal Capella
myself,she’s a hardy mare.
May 28, 2011 at 11:20 #357610Thankfully yesterday was very good, and I needed it in anticipation of it being potentially a very expensive day. £5 on Wawrinka in-running at 50s yesterday has paid for my big bet, £200 on Crystal at 10/3. £50 double with Rio Grande. If Crystal gets beat, I’ll have £100-200 on Rio Grande.
Have done Quadrant at 7s, El Wasmi at 8s, El Muqbil at 10s (Meehan 2nd time out), and singles & a double on Noseda’s handicap pair, Mountain Hiker & Western Aristocrat. Have also done a Lucky 63 on them all bar El Muqbil.
May 28, 2011 at 13:28 #357631This fellow first caught my eye at Newbury a year ago and funnily enough it was the only time Jamie Spencer has ridden him,he looked a tricky ride then, not as tricky as the winner mind (Berling).I reckon this step up to 2 miles is just what
Activate
needs as he’s a horse who typifies the meaning ‘Bridle horse’,i think the sedate pace of 2 miles will allow Jamie to just steer him through this field without ever having to put him under pressure,if he can keep him on the bridle i think he’s more talented than the remainder.
Activate
£200 e/w 6/1 Bet365 2.05pm Haydock Sat.
£300 lost in rule 4’s there but he read the script!
£3900
May 28, 2011 at 14:25 #357643Well I thought it’d be an expensive day and it’s going that way. Quadrant not given the best ride in the world, but I’m actually very angry about Crystal Capella.
I have absolutely no problem whatsoever if the horse is simply not good enough, but she wasn’t even half fit. It’s really disgraceful to send her to a race as unfit as that, especially when she was obviously going to be one of the favourites. She was beaten so far out it was ridiculous. Compare it to the Pride Stakes in October. Really not pleased about that. Have just backed L’Ami Louis out of anger.
May 28, 2011 at 14:56 #357649Regal ran his race but was beaten by a horse who actually deserved a decent win in The Cheka,it must have been a difficult decision to desert
Tax Free
as Trotter has a big soft spot for him,i shall stay loyal though as i still see ability in the old boy.
Tax Free
£300 win 10/30 Bet365,Beverley 4,20
£3600
May 28, 2011 at 15:03 #357651And nice of Noseda to do the same with Mountain Hiker, beaten after about 10 feet.
May 28, 2011 at 20:28 #357693In the 25yrs Alex Ferguson has been manager of Manchester Utd he has to realise this current sides defence is the worst by a country mile, almost statuesque at times against a team who could walk the ball into the net.
So You Think
Man U are a great side but Barcelona have a
Workforce
committed to the cause and thats what seperates the great from the exceptional.
May 29, 2011 at 03:18 #357719Thankfully yesterday was very good, and I needed it in anticipation of it being potentially a very expensive day.
And so it was. There are times you’re cantering along and can do no wrong and you think to yourself ‘this game’s really not hard if you know what you’re doing’, and then bam, 6 notebook horses run and only 1 wins. Tough, tough day financially. And then my bank blocked my card so I couldn’t back Barcelona, wonderful.
May 29, 2011 at 09:40 #357741Zarkava,we all have losing runs at this game, its the nature of the beast,i think i ‘invested’ about a grand on my ‘Prophet with an F’ thread before i started to show a profit, its bad enough losing privately but when you put yourself up for scrutiny on an open forum you are asking for trouble! I Love it but thats because i’m just a jammy b*stard who as reet says wields a butchers knife blindly!
Keep the faith,if your philosophy is solid your selections will win.May 29, 2011 at 09:46 #357743Hey King… I know the Hungarians exaggerate, but have the English bookies gone overboard about the Bullet? 20/1 for the Kings Stand. What do you think?
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
May 29, 2011 at 09:48 #357744I’m not too annoyed, Gord, and actually there was really no damage since I simply wiped out all of Friday’s profit. £450 on a Mezmaar-Suhaili double (that shouldn’t really have won, Buick gave the latter so much to do), £240 on in-running Tennis while Wawrinka was 2-0 down, £5 @ 50s, then went to the bookies to meet a mate, ended up having a gamble and picked up over £300 on 3 SFCs in a row.
One thing that I’m really going to stop doing is backing William Buick mounts. He gave Suhaili a lot to do, he rode Nathaniel dreadfully at Chester, he gave Piano & Rainbow Springs shocking rides over a month ago and I’m not really sure he helped out Rio Grande too much by not getting him any cover. Yes he has his moments on horses like Duncan in abysmal Group 2s, but really after his flying start last season he’s been shown up constantly.
May 29, 2011 at 10:02 #357748Hey King… I know the Hungarians exaggerate, but have the English bookies gone overboard about the Bullet? 20/1 for the Kings Stand. What do you think?
Nath, you know me and foreign horses! I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole, let them bring Rocket Man and Black caviar,i’ll find something to beat them. You stick with
Canford Cliffs
,he will beat both Goldikova and Frankel this year just so long as Dickie Hughes doesn’t beat him first! I can see Royal Ascot being pretty firm and this Overdose wont like it but if you can get 20/1 he’s overpriced for a horse with his reputation,he’s only 14’s on the machine.I’m sticking with
Prohibit
mate at 40’s he’s buzzin!Good luck.
May 29, 2011 at 11:23 #357770Occassionally you see what can only be described as a racing Cert, they only come around probably half a dozen times a year.
Fame and Glory
was one in last years Coronation Cup at 2/1,i thought Age of Aquarius was another at 10/1 for the Ascot Gold Cup!
I reckonSt Nicholas Abbey
is a cert at 11/10,i can see him doing exactly what Fame did last year, that performance at Chester was more than surprising to me,a bit of the Master Minded touches there.
St Nicholas Abbey
£500 win 11/10,Bet365, Coronation Cup Epsom.
£3100
