In what could well be an open year, I think China Rock is worth a small bet at 160 (Betfair).

His easy Punchestown victory was in a first time tongue tie (‘weakened’ was a word featured regularly in his form summaries before that).

If he’s been suffering from a breathing problem, then 160 seems very big.

Joe your posts are getting funnier by the day!

I want you both to write 100 times..Santuaire Ryanair, Santuaire Ryanair :P

There’s more chance of you changing your name to ‘Fist’ than

    Sanctuaire

running in the Ryanair Hurdy old boy. First and Foremost he’s a 2 miler through and through, secondly he’s a bit like ‘Frankel’ in that his style of running suggests any further could cause a problem, thirdly on a line through ‘Somersby’ he has the beating of this years Champion chaser ‘Finians Rainbow’,fourthly,he’s the same age as ‘Sprinter sacre’ and yet seems to have been around forever so still has scope for further improvement, fifthly Paul Nicholls has ‘Al Ferof’ for the Ryanair, sixthly, connections know that one way of getting ‘Sprinter’ beat is to take him on and he is about the only horse who can gallop faster and jump as cleanly as ‘your fellow’,seventhly,Ruby has openly admitted he’s never gone faster on a horse who was about to tackle a fence,(Taunton 31/01/12),Eightthly,Those who have backed ‘Sprinter’ at short prices (YOU)! now realise they have met their match in this fellow so are panickin! Ninethly,Joes a good judge and Tenthly I’m a better one and think this re-juvenated

    Sanctuaire

has Champion chaser written all over him.I’d take 12/1 about him everyday over Evs about Your Horse as 3rd place still makes the same profit as yours does to win!

Yeah he can gallop faster..faster than Sprinter Sacre canters

You should be asking 12/1 for him to run in the race.

No doubt he’ll meet Sprinter Sacre at Sandown in the Tingle Creek.

He’ll get such a hiding from the great horse that PN will immediately reroute him to the Ryanair realising what a complete waste of time it would be taking him on again.

This is Sprinter Sacre we are talking about here not Somersby, a chaser who has lost 80% of the times he’s run.

PLUS!! On a line through Dan Breen Somersby ran over a stone below his best which flattered Sanctuaire big time.

    He’s 12/1 with good reason.

I’d want 12s on Sanctuaire actually competing the course. Much too exuberant a jumper for Cheltenham.

connections know that one way of getting ‘Sprinter’ beat is to take him on and he is about the only horse who can gallop faster and jump as cleanly as ‘your fellow

Al Ferof tried taking on SS in the Arkle. As soon as Geraghty got the winner upsides the grey **** the bed.

TAPK just loves to be controversial and knock champions.

I said it right after Doncaster and I’ll say it again Sprinter Sacre is the best novice I have ever seen and he’s not the best since Arkle he’s the new Arkle. I predict no matter where he goes, or at what distance, nothing will ever beat him at level weights and he will never fall, he really is that good. So Gord can write until he blue in the face Sanctuaire couldn’t lay up with Sprinter Sacre for a mile and a half let alone beat him

I agree SS is a machine, but I hate to see him pigeon-holed as a 2-miler, just because NH has Long Run, Bobsworth etc. SS should be going for the big prize, the Gold Cup.
I always felt Moscow Flyer should have been tried at 3 miles.

As sure as God made little green apples Sprinter Sacre will be a stepped up in trip at some stage but when is a different story.

Finian’s Rainbow was brought back to 2 miles when Nicky claimed he had realised that although his breeding suggested he wanted 2m4f the former was his best trip…..Now all of a sudden he’s being talked about for the King George

Whether he really thinks the horse will get 3 miles or not is unclear but what is perfectly clear is he doesn’t think he stands a chance of beating Sprinter Sacre in the QMCC.

I Finian’s Rainbow had failed to get the trip at Aintree maybe the two would have flip flopped and swapped targets but that seems highly unlikely.

That said I will be very surprised if by this time next year we are not talking about Sprinter Sacre going for the King George and ultimately the Gold Cup.

Henderson is following Nicholls lead – top class horses are aimed at races according to whom their stable companions are, not what is best for them. Bizarre when they are under different ownership that they get away with it.

In this case because Finian’s Rainbow used to be a bit of a tearaway and Buckley said back in January he wanted to step the horse up in trip now he has learned to settle. Sprinter Sacre coming along no doubt sealed the deal.

Why has everyone buried Grands Crus? Scanning through the posts no one seems to take him seriously not even the bookies at 20/1 I say thank you. He was vying for second favourite at the gold cup last year as a novice now one bad run and he is out the window. He I quite certain he did not run his race in the RSA last year he never travelled like he used to and you could tell a way out he was not going to win which to me make it obvious he did not turn up on the day which is excusable for any horse once a while. I think couple of races into the season and that 20/1 will be long gone. I`m not saying he is a shoe in for the gold cup but I with a good chance if he turns up on the day. And not handling Cheltenham, well I still think he is the only horse to give big bucks a run for his money even though that was over hurdles, he did get a nose in front at the run in but of course big bucks is another form of beast!

I’ve never seen Grands Crus as a Cheltenham horse Solar, and that was before the RSA. I confidently backed against him in the RSA last year and will do so again in the Gold Cup this year. I also think that he won’t stay well enough to win a Gold Cup.

However, he’s got King George written all over him, at a track where his high cruising speed and accurate jumping saw him turn the Feltham into something of a procession. Quite a few of us on here availed of William Hill’s 8/1 at the end of last season and I still believe that he’s the one to beat there.

Mind you, if Sir Des Champs travels to Kempton then he’ll be running for second

thehorsesmouth, I purposely did not bring up the king George as well I think it a bit a late the Xmas present even at the current about 5/1. I can understand betting against him last year in the RSA as he was quite short though I admit I thought he`d walk it but I think it`s quite brave taking him on @20/1. I say I`d give him another crack at Cheltenham as I still think seeing him in the world hurdle he did not appear to have any issues with Cheltenham the RSA well I`ll put a line through it and looking at it like that well….. :)

SDC does look like a worthy favourite I must agree but I have GC a lot closer, anyway I`ll keep wagering my spare pennies on him all the way till 10/1 or shall I say till the bank :)

Best of luck Solar, I agree even at 5/1 he’s a big price for the KG, and there are probably worse 20/1 shots for Cheltenham, you’d be hoping he represents some trading value at that price at any rate :)
