[b:19vbcf8t]TRF Glorious Goodwood Tipping Competition[/color:19vbcf8t][/b:19vbcf8t][/size:19vbcf8t]
Rules:
You are allocated a fictional £1000 every day for the five day meeting. This may be used to stake on between TWO to SIX win or each-way bets (no multiples, trixies, yankies etc. – I don’t know how to work them out!). For example – 2 x £500 win bets, 2 x £250 e/w bets, 5 x £100 e/w bets, 1 x £400 win & 2 x £200 e/w etc. Bets must only be at Goodwood. (Edit – minimum stake on any horse must be £100 win or £50 e/w)
If you do not stake your entire £1000 it is lost – it DOES NOT get rolled over to the following day. If you stake more than £1000 then the difference will be taken off your final selection.
You are allowed up to THREE NAP SELECTIONS over the course of the five day meeting. These can be used whenever you like (all on one day if you wish) but they must be on WIN ONLY bets. A Nap selection will not be allowed on an each-way bet. If successful, the winnings on the NAP selection will be doubled. If you do not use up your three Nap selections – tough luck.
All winnings will be calculated at SP. Normal each-way rules apply (first two places in races of seven or fewer runners, first three in races or eight or more, first four in handicaps of sixteen or more) but all each-way bets will be calculated at a quarter of the odds – no matter what terms the bookies may offer.
You may include reserve selections if you wish, in the event of non-runners.
Competitors must take part in at least three days of the competition to be eligible to win
At the end of the five days the competitor with the highest cumulative profit is the winner
ALL SELECTIONS MUST BE POSTED ON THE APPROPRIATE THREAD IN THE COMPETITIONS SECTION OF THE FORUM BY THE TIME THE FIRST RACE OF THE DAY HAS STARTED. ALL ENTRIES POSTED AFTERWARDS WILL BE VOID. NO EDITING OF POSTS WILL BE ALLOWED ONCE RACING HAS STARTED.
In the event of a tie at the end of the competition the number of winning selections will be taken into account. If there is still a tie after that then there will be a fight in the playground after school to decide the winner (or the prize will be split, whatever).
Prize: Apart from the glory of being the TRF Goodwood Tipping Champion (what more would you want?) there will be a small, as yet undecided prize, which will probably be in the form of a free bet or something like that. (Any extra donation of prizes will be gratefully received!)
I hope that is clear enough, if you have any queries, if any of these rules contradict each other or are simply a complete load of bllocks please reply to this thread or send me a PM. You do not need to state your intention of entering, just post on the appropriate thread in the Competitions section of the forum on the first day.
Good luck![/b]

July 28, 2007 at 10:03 #109473Oooo yes me too
ummmmm what’s a NAP selection?
.
July 28, 2007 at 12:33 #109481I’ll give this a bash .. count me IN !!
July 28, 2007 at 14:14 #109501I’m definitely in – love the meeting!
Cheers!!
July 28, 2007 at 17:45 #109522KT, A nap selection is your most fancied selection of the day and newspaper tipster’s nap selections qualify them for a prestigious competition which runs all season long.
In competitions a nap selection usually doubles the winnings on that horse ie if you picked a 2/1 winning nap you’d be +4
Hope you enter – should be easy for you as you’ve got more studying time!
PS I’m in…
PPS HJ why aren’t you playing cricket?

Who said I’m not?
Anyway, I hear that you’ve got a ringer playing in your team which doesn’t really enter into the spirit of fair play, don’t you think?
July 28, 2007 at 22:27 #109557I’ll give it a go if time permits

July 29, 2007 at 13:36 #109633If I remember and can get access to a computer I´ĺl give it go….. means no-one will have to worry about finishing last.
July 30, 2007 at 09:35 #109693Great idea HJ
You should probably have a minimum stake of say £100. This will avoid situations where if you only fancy 1 on a particular day, you can put £999 on your strong fancy and the other £1 on a rag to ensure you have bet your quota of 2 horses that day. Alternatively, you could allow somebody to have just 1 bet per day.

Good idea, I didn’t really think of it that way. I’ll edit the rules to say the minimum stake is £100 win or £50 e/w.
Cheers
July 30, 2007 at 10:40 #109703My punting luck was just about used up during Royal Ascot, but I’ll give it a go.
July 30, 2007 at 16:53 #109724Hi, Just wondered…If you can only have six bets and the maximum is £100 how do you spend your £1000? Have I missed something?
